I do think that debts and children are a massive strain on any relationship. Maybe it would be good to schedule in more date nights or couple time? Me and DH hardly have any time just the two of us due to work, DC, etc, so I always feel it does us good to go out for the occasional meal, or even out for a coffee just the two of us :).

Just seen your posts, I'm so sorry that you and DH had such a big argument and that divorce was mentioned. Glad to see things are sorted and I hope you're ok xx
  • I hope things are going well on the job search and finance front Purplemum. Are DS and DD enjoying their Easter holiday from school?

  • Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your kind messages :)

Well last week couldn't have gone any worse even if it tried. I'm sure the debt gods are against us!

Last week resulted in having to use what little of the EF I had accumulated, but still need to move money about.

The boiler has finally given up (it is the original one that was installed in the house when it was built 35 years ago!) BG were useless  and we ended up getting someone else to look at it, it is kaput and we need a new one  BG are coming today to look at it, so we have a second opinion but are being charged £60 excess to look at it.

So no hot water, no heating...DH and I used the showers at the gym and the kids used next door neighbours shower.

Not to mention the mirrored bifold wardrobe door in DD's room fell off....seems that the previous owners did a botch repair to it. Thankfully it didn't injure her or break and we managed to get someone out to fix it...again the EF was used.

On the upside....I have sold a few bits via FB marketplace and I'm hoping some more will go.

I've also brought my lunch with me too and plan to do so the rest of the week

DH has finally cottoned on about the Pots and what they are there for and that they aren't a waste of time (his words last time I tried to discuss it) :T
  • Update :D

After a little prod by my agency bloke last week, hinting to the company that he 'believes' that I am looking elsewhere. The Contracts Manager here wants to have a private chat tomorrow when he is on site....told my agency bloke that I would let him know what happens, after much toing and froing via email, they have no plans to sack me, so I'm hoping it is good news :)

Also BG man has arrived and has told DH he is going to change a part and it should work.

Also someone else wants to buy some of my junk but couldn't get that the item is too big to post and that is why I put collection only...honestly some people don't read properly!!! I've told them to let me know when they want to collect.

Ooh hoping the BG man can repair the boiler and you don't need to get a new one yet!

Fingers crossed for the chat at work tomorrow.
