Morning,
This may end up being an epic post, so apologies now if it does due to my rambling.
March round up
Good things:
DD Options sorted
Sorted out DS's spending cap on his mobile
Debt is going down slowly
Did a small BT which has helped
Took my lunch to work
Have done loads on my tapestry
Did a few long training walks
Bad things:
Didn't stick to my lunches to work and got lost
Not heard from the company that was desperate to see me
CT has increased
Nearly missed out on one of DD's camps as I forgot the deposit due date
Not totally stuck to the meal plan
Overall a mixed bag for March, with a few areas that could've been improved.
April, I am holiday from next Friday until the following Friday because if I do (by some miracle) end up changing jobs, this may be the only holiday I get this year.
One benefit to being holiday, is that I won't be spending as much money on fuel.
I am hoping that the weather will be good that week too.
April Goals
Personal
Finish my tapestry
Read more of my book
More training walks needed
Keep looking for and applying for jobs
Household
Blitz DD's bedroom (with her help) so she has room for a desk
Blitz the house and open all windows
Hang washing out as much as possible
Sew all DD's badges on her camp blanket - I may need badgering about this one :rotfl:
Financial
Make meal plan and stick to it
Take my lunches to work - aiming for 14 days due to holidays
Keep going with my Money Hub app
Both kids need a new set of clothes due to growth spurts
I have split my goals up this time, to see if it makes any difference in how I approach things. Even after 10 years on here, I still feel like I am learning.
I am pleased with how the debt is going down and generally feel like that side of things is moving in the right direction, but feel that it isn't moving quick enough lol
I have found renewed enthusiasm for my pots recently and can see where I will be able to allocate money once the OD is gone. I told DH yesterday that come June the OD will be even lower, although I doubt it'll be gone this year.
Sorry for the long post.......:rotfl:0 -
Afternoon,
Finally had an update from the company about the other job. The project has been pushed back a couple of weeks and they are still recruiting for management before interviewing others. She was happy that I am keen and as soon as she gets the nod, she will start the process of interview dates for the CV's they have.
So....it's not dead totally just the usual delaying tactics by the client side.
Spoke to our HR lady today about DH (they used to work together) and she has asked for him to email her and she will see what she can do with regards to recruitment for him.
In other news....I have been playing about with my spread sheets and I could possibly get the OD down to £1000 by March next yearwhich in turn means that it could possibly be gone totally by the end of next year :j

It's a good idea to divide your goals up into sections, that always makes them clearer and less overwhelming, plus it's easier to focus on the really important ones. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I like the structure of your March roundupIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
Emergency fund 0/1000
Buffer fund 25/100
Debt March -1,119 (April) -889 (April) -498 (April) -378 (May) -8750 -
The goals look great, it's important to look at the whole picture not just finances.
I hope the lady comes back soon with some information about the job, and dh gets something sorted too.
Good news on the overdraft plans, I'm really sick of mine now and it's the hardest to pay off.
Have a good day, it's nearly the weekend!

Thank you, that's what I am hoping will keep me focussed.
I'd love to get this job, it is one of the top Construction companies I've always wanted on my CV
I too am sick of it....it's taken me nearly two years of nagging DH before he agreed to it! Men!!0 -

Afternoon,
Sorry that I haven't been about, MSE had banned the IP address on my work laptop, so I couldn't log on  thankfully the lovely MSE lot fixed it and here I am (I can hear your groaning from here! :rotfl: )
Hope everyone had a lovely day on Sunday, whether you are a mum or a dad. I was nicely spoilt and got a gift voucher for the local haberdashery/textile/craft place, so I can buy some more tapestry wool for my next project
I have brought my lunch with me to work every day so far this month.
I have been keeping my money hub app up to date.
I haven't done the meal plan yet for the month, so that is on my agenda for this weekend.
DD's last Guides tonight until after Easter and DS has no Cadets tonight, so early nights for the pair of them.
I was supposed to be holiday on Friday due to the boiler and the dishwasher being serviced, but the boiler service disappeared from the online thingy, so I am now working from home as it is just the dishwasher being serviced.
The kids finish just after 12pm on Friday anyway, so I can pick them up as I will be about.
I am holiday next week though and I can't wait.0
