Not sure what the last few posts are about, as I read it the OP has changed his mind and will accept the vendors offer. Or did I misread ?0

He’s told the EA he’s turned down the vendor offer and wants to stick with his own choice of company. Who the vendor doesn’t want.0

Who the vendor doesn’t want.OK looks like we might have got the wrong end of the stick then and have been a bit niaive. its a stressfull time and its not easy to be rational all the time. Thanks for putting me right.
Only thing is i'd already replied to the EA and said that we were very happy with the company we'd chose to do the survey and wouldn't be needing any favours from vendors. no reply from them and no confirmation from damp proofing company for an appointment or anything.
Will try calling tomorrow. Hopefully I havent upset them too much.
To me that says he had already told them he wouldnt need the offer but is changing his mind and will ring them tomorrow to change.0 -
Ring them and explain you've slept on it and have decided you were misinformed and now agree the vendor's proposal is the best for all parties. You haven't said exactly what it was you replied, but if it's anything like your earlier posts i'd suggest instructing the surveyor they recommend but politely decline the offer to pay as an olive branch of sorts. Otherwise don't be surprised if seller decides to jump ship to another buyer at the first opportunity. Credit where it's due, well done for coming back and admitting you were wrong. Hopefully bridges with the seller aren't completely burnt.0

Haven't you put the ball in your own court? You said you wanted your own people.
If you want the snake oil salesman around then you'll want to be arranging the time and date and liaising with the EA, not writing strongly worded emails. Don't expect any price reductions from the vendor on the results.
I mean, you could actually backtrack and organise a proper survey like the vendor suggested.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

This is not a negotiation for a "strongly worded email"...
You don't hold a strong hand to play it from!0 -
I wouldn't send a 'strongly worded email' YOU were the one that threw their teddies out of the cot when they offered to do you a favour, after visiting the house 4 times, YOU were the one that took umbrage at a very nicely worded email. Maybe the vendors have been away for a weekend. And if I were them I would be looking to sell to someone else if a 'strongly worded' email came rather than a gentle reminder at this point.
Contact the EA and ask if they have heard anything. Ask NICELY.
What was your email on Thursday worded like?“Isn't this enough? Just this world? Just this beautiful, complex
Wonderfully unfathomable, natural world” Tim Minchin0 -

You really don’t get it, do you?
Are you hell bent on losing this house because that’s where you’re heading at the moment. Are you this angry and impatient with everything in life? You sound like a nightmare.0 -

Really, who do you think you are (apart from an obviously nightmare FTB).
If you do send that email, I'm pretty sure that will be the final nail in the coffin of your house purchase and you will have to start all over again. If that happens, you will only have yourself to blame.0
