He had various pensions I think because he cashed them early. He did work for Leeds City council & was part of the early severance scheme which paid him some money & enabled him to stay in Italy longer.
When he cashed in all his pensions early he must have known that the windfall needed to last him for the rest of his life? So he cashed them all in at 55? Spent the lot in Italy and doesn't now have any provision?
I find that quite frightening, if he has family over here couldn't they financially care for him and take them into their home for maybe 6 months and then apply for help from the benefits system?0 -

The OP or father should check his situation very carefully - is it certain that there is no deferred pension?0 -
Sounds like some very poor decisions were made financially and personally. You should take this into account when he comes back here. As you say, you are a single father with a young child on limited income. His coming here will affect all 3 of those.
What was the relationship like with him when he left for Italy and lived there? Have you remained in good contact? Visited each other frequently? Send birthday, Christmas cards, gifts to his family. Supported his family, not financially but just being a "good dad". Things like that, I would take into consideration. The biggest negative really is he would not be able to contribute much and he would have to find a source of regular income. 60 is a very young age to be without an income.0
