If they used the phrase 'would of', that alone hardly inspires confidence.0

I only switched to EE (strange that they share initials with a mobile phone provider that I took to the ombudsman a few years back) 2 1/2 months ago.
Got the price increase e-mail yesterday from them and went back to MSE Cheap Energy Club but can't do a comparison because acording to MSE, my switch is still in progres...
Anyway having read EEs e-mail properly now, my price increases are as follows:
Electricity: Was £558.95.... going up to £694.98 = £136.03 increase per year.
Gas: Was £1167.35.... going up to £2120.09 :eek::eek: = increase of £952.76 per year!!!!!:eek::eek:A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

Some people, not me I hasten to add, would possibly call them slippery bastards;...and once again, I’m not accusing,...I’m just musing.:D0 -
Another unhappy customer here, joined in March on a fixed term "guaranteed" tariff and have now received this email...in the telephone queue now!

Have just tweeted Martin and Cheap Energy Club to flag it up to them, this needs looking into ASAP.
Also just checked my welcome e-mail and that too says my rates are fixed until 22nd May next year. I guess if we complain to EE or Ofgem then the outcome (assuming we win) is a) EE have to honour the fixed term date for us, b) we claim compensation being the difference between what we should have paid until May with EE, versus what we will now pay with them or A. N. Other provider?
All that of course, assumes they don't go bust in the meantime which it sounds like they could.
I'm half tempted to cancel my DD so at least they have to chase me for the money, rather than the other way around.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

Their Trust Pilot ratings seem to have taken a surprising nosedive in the last few days:

This is form the Contract document linked form my Fixed Price welcome email
"We can change the terms of the Agreement and increase any of the Charges, (unless we have expressly agreed otherwise) at any time. If we increase any of the Charges or if any other change disadvantages you, we will give you at least 30 days’ written notice in advance of that change taking effect."
I'm absolutely livid about this - what can we do?

Cheap Energy Club seems to be the same as Money Supermarket. Economy Energy did come to the top of their tables and I highlighted FIXED TARIFF only. A delisting is surely in order.
The Welcome Letter is the OFFER and the customer not cancelling the contract is the ACCEPTANCE and a CONTRACT is thus formed on precise terms. Any changes should be dealt with by a notice, i.e. not the casual updating of their website. I certainly hold Economy in breach.
The cancellation of a direct debit could put you in breach of contract. I would switch to avoid this nuisance, but if they become insolvent then it may be difficult to recover credit. There may be more protection in holding fire.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -

I am livid too. I am following various courses of action. Yes, there is some formality associated with tariff change.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -
I'm on the phone now, been told hat my tariff is a mistake and the contract terms state the rates can be changed - see above text.
I've accused them of mis-selling and breach of contract.
