Wow.
Mine dropped in yesterday too.
Gas up 60%
Electricity 15%
Overall about 40% increase total.
After three months of hassle with every aspect of Customer service not surprised if it was an error.
My T&C's say fixed guaranteed until 6/6/2019
I expect the wait on the phones will go up from the usual 30 to 40 minutes!!
I have posted before as they put my direct debits up quoting many fragile reasons [after no bills yet and estimated amounts I have supplied readings]
Cold snap, Heavier than normal use, previous supplier notified them I was a heavier than declared user.
Yet I was £72 in credit.
I will try the chat. [It is till just as useless]
Yes it does smack of desperation, letter encouraging me twice it might be worth to change suppliers.
Does it spell trouble?
Only just had my switch cashback too.
Going for a recommended BULB switch asap no debits up front and 90% customer service.
EE took three direct debits woth of fuel in just over a month. [two on joining as T & C 's I missed that] and then another after a month.0 -

I’m not surprised they’ve increased the charge dramatically though;...the tariff you quoted is a really good deal. I wish I was on it!
P.S. to accompany the dramatic price increase perhaps they should consider changing the name of their company as well. :doh:0 -
I was just advised and still on the chat now!! my prices ARE going up next month.
They have just asked for the same screen grab as yours above.
They were very adamant until I mentioned T%C's and in breach and OFGEM
I will update later when chat stops.
THEY ARE LOOKING IN TO IT!!0 -

I have been with this supplier since mid 2017. Their admin has been terrible from the start. It would take too long to go through all my problems. I was on a fixed tariff till June this year when I switched to Switch Saver at the the end of the fix period. I was told that this was a variable tariff and that there were no fixed rates on offer. I am therefore surprised to see that there are people on Switch Saver who have been told it is a fixed tariff. Moreover they are not all on the same rates. I suspect that the price increase letter has gone to all Switch Saver customers, including those supposedly on a fixed rate.
This seems a nonsensical situation as a rate cannot be both fixed and variable but in my experience you cannot believe anything the company says either on the phone or by email or by letter. You often get conflicting information from different customer service advisors.
I also worry that the company is headed for the buffers. There is likely to be a mass exodus of customers given that all their customers have gone to them looking for cheap rates.0 -
Ok, they are adamant that the tariff is variable via their Facebook channel. This is blatantly incorrect. I have asked for an escalation. I have read T&Cs end to end in conjunction with emails which form part of an offer which I accepted leading to a legally binding contract. MSE also had this listed under the "fixed price" offer, and the email paperwork trail indicates that the tariff (as least in my case) is fixed.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

Their front desk is pre-programmed to repeat endlessly that the tariff is variable. I will now raise complaint correspondence which I will email and post by tracked special delivery. They have to respond within 10 days.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

However, it would appear that with this particular Economy Energy tariff although the ‘name’ has remained unchanged the charges and Ts&Cs within that tariff have been chopped and changed as and when it’s suited Economy Energy to do so.
You end up with a large customer base who are ostensibly on same tariff but many of whom have very different Ts&Cs;...it’s a little confusing, to say the least.
However, any changes should not affect existing customers,...only new customers.
P.S. I’m no legal expert btw, so my last sentence could be complete bollocks. :doh:0
