They had a lot to hide.
Their Twitter account is no more, assume the same with Facebook too. Is this the end of the line?ummm...0 -

It may be a defensive move as consumers move in on a co-ordinated attack. "They don't like it up them".I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -
I am in a similar situation with Bulb, in the middle of switching and had e-mail telling me my monthly cost is increasing by almost 30% taking me to the same as I would have been with Edf0

Same as myself. Just had three months with EE. So Switch completed
However not even had an acknowledgement yet.
So awful news.

I would recommend anyone switching away from EE to look for a fixed rate deal. If you find a market-beating deal which is variable, the prices will inevitably rise within a few months of switching.
I asked Citizens Advice Bureau what happens if you switch and then your old supplier becomes insolvent before you get a refund of your credit balance. I received a prompt reply but it did not cover the insolvency point ! It describes how to make a complaint and escalate it to the energy ombudsman - not much help if the supplier is in administration.0 -
I am also with EE, I've barely made it through the switch process which I started in June because they are sooooo slow at finalising the deal. I give them my meter readings as asked and they still FAIL to add them to my statement so I don't even know what my usage is yet. I've complained again this month but I'm still waiting for a response.
I've had the price up email too and mine is going up by £224 a year. I haven't even had an accurate bill yet and I've now been with them 4 months. They are shocking and I can't wait to leave them but until all the price cap changes kick in is it best to hold fire? What if everyone else goes up even more? Even now, I've tried the switch site again and they are still consistently a lot cheaper than everyone else at the moment including Bulb.
This thread is really long so I haven't been able to read everything. What's the general consensus of EE customers here?0 -

Same here. More than 3 months in but the site here says I am still waiting for the process to be completed. I think they've just forgotten.0 -
Been on holiday, got email while away made me smile.OK back now more serious attitude. I took the economy energy offer via MSE cheap energy club on the 16th May. Looking at the forum I have decided the safest bet is to switch now to another supplier. So i went to cheap energy club site and found it says I have 1 switch in progress! So it looks like economy energy didn't inform cheap energy club of the completed switch so I assume I didn't get the £25.00 bonus either. I need to know if its OK for me to switch to another supplier without further penalty
SNAP. If you email CheapEnergClub I think they are manually completing the process. We are all in the same boat.0 -
As above... yes it seems some time on afternoon 10/09/18 Economy Energy Twitter and Facebook accounts were pulled. Seems to be their primary place of customer contact and has seen since thursday/friday an uncoordinated attack by customers pointing to having recently joined on what they believed were fixed deals for a year (backed by their welcome letter) only to have been notified now by email of whopping price hike. It seemed clear to me their social media staff were well out of their depth in trying to fend off allegations of fraud and possibly they've pulled social media accounts to prevent more damage. Their trustpilot manipulation (which they seem to make some effort to fiddle) now appears to be coming undone too as people switch their ratings.
They have quietly (like for everything else EE can't get things to work right so no notification despite requesting such) opened their Warm Home Discount Scheme for 2018/19 if relevant to anyone here."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -
Ok people... an update to follow from my above post. I've been in contact via webchat with EE.
Their agent stated in query of why social media platform accounts gone:
"I'm truly sorry, there was a company decision to use other platforms such as live chat/customer service line."
In query of the price rises on what welcome pack says was a fixed deal I was surprised at the reply after days of people being told the very opposite in social media:
"I can assure you The Switch Saver welcome pack you received will be honoured"
Agent goes on to confirm no imposition of price rises indicated in the recent email.
He was quite definitive (implying he had been clearly instructed on how to respond to the matter).... I'd be interested if others contact them and get the same information. It would be a major u-turn by the company in response to a backlash by customers including having to take down their social media accounts to avoid further damage.
I retain transcript of the conversation - why do I get the horrible feeling I'll be needing it."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0
