Girlfriend Unemployed

She would not get every benefit going. A nonsense. She would get up to 73 pounds a week in universal credit or jsa.
As for your comment that they have to house her in temp accommodation until a council flat comes up.
She could end up in a hostel and wait two years.
You need to be quite hard hearted to throw someone out on the streets.
Do you know how hard it is to get work just now.
She’s two months out of uni. Seriously. Have a major word with yourself.
I used to work in homeless hostels and some of the most vulnerable people waited two years.
Tell her to apply for universal credit. She might get some even though you work.
And do her a favour and just leave her.0 -
She’s get a LHA too, or equivalent UC. I think there’s a small council tax element too.She would not get every benefit going. A nonsense. She would get up to 73 pounds a week in universal credit or jsa.

Actually, assuming the OP is for real, I'm torn between wondering if this is his ploy to get a foot hold into social housing because he thinks it's a better bet, by throwing her out so she gets a flat (interesting that he's looked up the housing act, isn't it?); or congratulating the girlfriend on a near miss, with an immature and irresponsible partner who would never make it through the first week of family life.
Unless I missed it, I am not sure if the OP is a man or a woman.
The fact that they talk about their girlfriend does not tell us what gender the OP is.0 -
if a male and female share a flat on a 'platonic' basis would she be entitled to any benefits while out of work?
if two men (or two women) share a flat on a 'non platonic' basis would one of them be entitled to benefits while out of work?0 -

Not sure how that matters

No, they are a couple. Yes if they are not (have separate sleeping space).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
