"It would be remiss of me not to mention the role of Premier Park in Exeter in supporting this legislation through its management of Marina car park in the middle of Torquay, which has produced a ton of complaints compared with the entirety of Torbay Council’s enforcement operation at 39 car parks and on-street car parking facilities."Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:

Pete Wishart (SNP, Perth):
"I am sick and tired of receiving emails from people complaining about the behaviour of parking companies, telling me that they will never again visit Perth city centre because of the negative experience they had when they had the misfortune to end up in a car park operated by one of these companies. I have received more complaints about one car park in the city of Perth than about any other issue. That car park is operated by the lone ranger of the parking cowboys: the hated and appalling Smart Parking—I see that many other Members are unfortunate enough to have Smart Parking operating in their constituencies. It has reached the stage where one member of my staff now spends a good part of each day just helping my constituents and visitors to my constituency to navigate the appeals process.
…
The BPA does not have the ability to regulate these companies and has shown no sign whatsoever that it is trying to get on top of some of the sharper practices. The BPA gives a veneer of legitimacy to some of the more outlandish rogue operators by including them in their membership, allowing them to continue to operate. The Bill will oblige operators such as Smart Parking to amend their practices."
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -

. More grists to the mill.
Thank you BP in keeping on top of this and providing information and advice not influenced by hysteria! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

my local MP (the Shadow Minister) gave his support in the early part of the programme and yes I have written to him before, plus he is on the bacll about these issues too
a good job that some MP,s take their job seriously, plus a bit of self interest in lowering the incoming complaints through legislation0 -
I have attempted to contact my local MP about his support for this bill on three occasions, but it appears my emails may be too loud and raucous for Mr O'Mara to tolerate and respond to.
Bless him.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Yes, particularly the bit about the DVLAThis has become a profit generator for the government agency,...
andIf passed in the House of Lords, the bill will cover England, Wales, and Scotland – creating consistency for motorists anywhere in Britain.
