Just a heads up - the report and 3rd reading of this bill is scheduled for Friday 23rd November before it goes to the Lords

Having just read the Committee debate (19/07) it made me smile the way Parking lie, Excel/Vcs were being mentioned.
Not forgetting BW lying legal and Gallstones being rubbished too.
The MP,s in that meeting seem to be well aware of what is going on, I really hope they take the scammers to task with the new bill and I'm optimistically positive about it0 -
will be a long time tho , ,,,,,,,,,0

I was positive about the Beavis case...and look what the elderly, out of touch, Capita-shareholding Judges managed somehow, to contrive to do to consumers, with their diabolical 'decision' to twist the penalty rule in favour of ParkingEye and ignore the UTCCRs and the specific Consumers Association intervention. Opening the floodgates as we all knew a wrong decision would.
Announced with immaculate timing by the Supreme Court, slapping ordinary law-abiding drivers and keepers in the face in National Consumer week.
How ironic:National Consumer Week 2018 will commence on Black Friday 23 November.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This looks perilously close to the stuff just emerging on Brexit today and just musing whether this might be sidelined in favour of 'bigger and more important' things? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If there is standardisation between council car parks and PPC's in my area that will mean a big hit for the PPC's. It will halve the charge in some cases from £100 reduced to £60.00 for prompt payment to £50.00 reduced to £25.00 for prompt payment.

Currently, the Parliamentary timetable for Friday 23 November is reserved for Private Members' Bills and Legislative amendments, starting at 10:30am or thereabouts.
Sir Greg Knight's Bill is second on the list, so they'll deal with that once the first one (the Stalking Protection Bill) is concluded.
Mrs May and other big hitters are unlikely to be present, and very few MPs normally attend on Fridays like this.
It seems unlikely that the Brexit brouhaha will impact upon this, as the UK/EU withdrawal agreement is due to be finalised at an EU summit on Sunday, and only after that will the PM need to come back to the House to try and achieve a majority in favour.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0
