I didn't ask for any. I'm local, i work part time so just rearranged my hours, and I was too paranoid to ask in case they'd checked up on my employment!0 -
either way , its a WELL DONE from me too
if you can do it, winning in such a manner, I fail to see why others who come here dont just suck it up and get with the programme (not that I have ever had to go through it) - respect where its due (to you , and to those who helped you)0 -

Very big congratulations to you ParkingStressie
Sorry if I've missed you already mentioning it, but are you okay to say which county court your hearing was held at? I only ask as I'm trying to keep a small record of PPC court stats and having a few "known wins" for defendants makes for better reading0 -
Redx thank you! I think.. ;-)
ImNoExpert is there a private message function here? If i find it I'll let you know. I can also give you info about the other known win that helped me pick up on the unusual use of the Consumer Rights Act.0 -
One last thing - the advocate immediately requested permission to appeal.
The Judge refused the request, but informed me that VCS could still appeal to the next tier.
Anyone any idea of how likely this is? Obviously she was just doing her job and it's up to VCS whether or not they do. I can see it might be worth their while if they're concerned the Consumer Rights Act is suddenly going to become a thorn, and they want it challenged in a higher court, particularly if they've basically got a year's worth of PCNs they've made claims against until they implemented the reg number log system now in place. On the other hand, it's such a location-specific situation, they may cut their losses (literally).
Anyone got a feel for this?0 -

I can’t see VCS bothering you again. Come back on this thread if they do.

Got your message, thank you
I shouldn't worry about VCS appealing, especially if you didn't ask for costs in this case, they may feel they actually got away with a bit of a saving if they haven't had to pay you anything.
I would keep all your paperwork on the subject though, so you're not surprised by anything in the slim to zero chance it happened, just to put your mind at ease.
Do feel free to place your court win document in your windscreen though any time you find yourself in a VCS car park in future :cool:0 -

my point is that you have dithered and beat around the bush and stressed yourself out over this so many times I definitely thought you would bottle it and throw in the towel at some point , or make a mess of it in court
the fact that despite all your doubts and hand wringing you managed to do what you were told , to stick with it and to beat these sc@mmers in court is a minor miracle , one that you did yourself (with help from people on here and your own homework and research etc)
its no mean feat and my point is that if somebody such as I describe above can do this and win , meaning so can all the other ditherers that come on here on a daily basis
so a well deserved pat on the back
BUT , do not start stressing out on what ifs , I doubt that VCS will try an appeal because if they do , and they lose , it becomes more of a precedent in other claims , like JOPSON or SMITH for example
they wont want to keep losing and so lose arguments due to their own incompetence , the higher they go in the court system , the more they have to lose if they fail (its not just your case , it can set precedents in other cases , whereas your win here has no precedence in other cases)0 -
Redx Ha! Well yes. Ideally I'd have remembered deadlines, read letters, removed my head from the sand, paced myself, but hey, old dog fails to learn new tricks however much it may bring her out in a rash.0
