Debit card for junior on school jolly abroad?

    Junior's existing debit card is one of the cards from hell for foreign use, may just have to suck that up.
    Have you not looked at the FlexOne account that I suggested? In his/her name with no overseas fees, good for future trips even after turning 18. There's really no need to look further.

    Just about every American ATM has a fee attached to it - however, please account for fees accordingly - this is on average between $3 and $4 nowadays.

    I'm not sure if this is an option, but using a Barclays card at a Bank of America cash machine will be ATM surcharge free however - just look for charges for foreign currency from Barclays when one of these transactions are made.
