  • 'Morning everyone,

I am only on this thread at the weekends (unless on holiday from work) and really missed it last weekend, felt lost and needed my daily fix .

Staying at home this morning and doing lots of housework, this afternoon I am going shopping with my sister and tonight I am going to the cinema with my friend (to see Rendition, hope it's good).

I am finally, definitely getting the chimney repaired today.......I hope !!! It's terrible trying to get workmen to come as arranged especially when they're related to you

It's a dry, chilly, windy day here this morning, must go and hang out the washing.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday.

Well today is the start of my three day weekend and operation clean up has just started :D, have sorted the recycling and the WM is on with the second and hopefully last load ( oh just remembered still need to do the bedding)
Had a qucik catch up, ((((( joannasmum)))), earlier this year you may remember my cat 'disappeared' for 2 weeks and I was heartbroken so I can only imagine how you feel.

Scuzz - thanks for the advice will let you know how I get on, just trying to encourage the sponsor money now, for a very good cause the local hospice's.

Right have a 4pm deadline as I'm off out to watch the football with some friends and I have a mystery shop job and need to fit the gym in at some point.

So have a great day, be good ( useless to say to AussieLass:D), and have fun

Don't usually make it on here at weekends, but have a few minutes before rushing off to the auction.

N9eav, not surprised you are feeling a bit fragile after all that gorgeous food, bet your trousers feel a bit tight around the waistband as well

Pen Pin, sorry you feel rough again, it must be so depressing always feeling yuk, but at least you have your lovely family :A Hope you feel better later.

DS finally got the money from the sale of his house, so he took us out for a meal last night, which was lovely. Told him to just to keep looking at his bank balance before it all disappears

Hope everyone is Ok, have a good day x

    Morning everyone.
Well my mornings got off to a flying start, i checked my online banking as i do every morning, only to find i have had my first bank charge in over 2 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was flipping fuming as i know to the penny whats is in there and whats coming out when.
After double checking my figures, iv just phoned the bank (24 hour call centre) and given them what for, as i had transfer money from my savings account at midnight on thursday to cover a small paypal payment, and they tell me the charge was gone on because i should have transfered it before the end of bussiness!!!! Even though its instant transfer and it showed up immidatly!!!! So after a few choice words, and a menson about contacting their code of compliance officer they have refunded the charge!!!!
Oh im so mad, iv worked so hard since going on the Dmp getting my head around every little figure and they have justed p@@@ me off!!!

Sorry rant over, plans for today lots of housework including ironing and piles of washing, tea is going to be spicy chicken wraps followed by warm hob-nobs and custard.
Have a good day everyone im off to check they have refunded that charge!!!!

  • First post this week as life has gone a bit pear-shaped. Half-term was good. Went to sister-in-law's wedding in Brighton. Felt good that everyone commented on my lovely Per Una dress that cost £5 from the charity shop. Didn't let on though. Life in the NHS continues to be awful. Have unexpectantly had to pay for my degree this year as my employer won't. Have written a strongly worded letter of appeal and I hope to have the decision reversed.

Have been up since 5am studying. Plan to go to a boot fair today and organise my life a bit more. It's my birthday tomorrow and I really don't want to be ironing. Would rather clean the toilet. My quest for environmentally safe cleaners continues. Went into my local hardware store and bought borax yesterday. Plan to make some gloop. Has anyone else used it? Was it any good?

Have a lovely day everyone. It's lovely here on the Kent coast.

    xxxxxx;)

    Morning All

Hope the washing up is done now N9eav
    Enjoy your girly day PP.

Well feel a little more cheerful today, had a good nights sleep with a little lie in and feel raring to go. Need to get everything done today as tomorrow we are out all day at Brands Hatch for Lorry Racing.

So in a min need to shower, empty dw wipe kitchen and load wm with the first of many loads of washing. I will then be ironing.

Didnt go out last night after all as OH had another funny one. Took him to the emergency doc and it appears another kidney stone is on the move and he has a serious water infection too. Hopefully today will see a marked improvement.

Out tonight at our local tiny pub for a barbeque and then fireworks. All for charity as well - should be good.

    Have a great day.

  • Morning everyone! I, like N9eav, am feeling slightly fragile. Had a late night (only 2 glasses of wine) eating curry with friends. We went into the centre of York. The highlight was a naan bread, about 60cm across, that came hanging upright on its own stand.

We're having a bonfire party tonight  . The bonfire and fireworks are in the next town, and are excellent. Coming back here for sausages in HM rolls, HM spicy beans and wedges. One friend has had his Parkin maturing for weeks and another is bringing some sparklers and fireworks for the garden later. Not sure how many are sleeping over, so have plans for Welsh cakes and muffins tomorrow.

Ironing is calling (but I think I may ignore it for a wee while, and have a surf ;) ).

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Morning Chums,
I had a nice afternoon at Bluewater and didn't break the bank either which was quite good.My district nurse was late arriving yesterday, so I didn't get the bus until 12.00.Arrived at BW at 1.00.p.m. had a cheapo meal from the offer on the back of my bus ticket, £1.99 instead of £3.59 in MackyD's.My bus ticket was free anyway as I have a pensioners bus pass. Didn't think to buy a drink to go with it though as it was a quid, and I never finish them anyway. Went to Lakeland and treated myself to some craft bits and some soup/sauce freezer bags spent in total about £11.00.
On the way back to the bus station wandered through M&S's and there were some large tables full of bits of cakes/nibbles ect for the customers to try.So one has to oblige so had some cheesecake and some delicious pear tart nibbles followed by some 'free' sparkling water to wash it down:j .Could have had wine but I didn't fancy it. Went on my way to catch my bus feeling quite pleased that I had enjoyed an afternoon out for very little outlay. very OS.:D Left a huge pot of leek and tattie soup on the go in my SC and by the time I got home my house smelt delicious.:D
Am going to spend today making some Christmas cards and a couple of birthday cards.
WM due to go on this morning, as on looking out of the window it looks like its going to be a nice day.I can see the sun shining on the Medway river from my window and thats usually a good sign .Off to a small fireworks thrash in my DDs garden tomorrow .Her tribe of five love it ,the little ones only like the pretty ones like me but my 12 year old grandson likes the noisy ones.he is outvoted by the rest of us.My sis-in-law is coming for a few days on Monday from Bromley so it will be nice to see her.We will have an early Christmas as she is off on the 4th December to Dubai for 2 months to her DD's and family. They are due to be coming home in February, so she is going out to help with the packing up and look after her 2 DGD's So I am going to see if I can get a small turkey and some xmas pud for us for next week.
<<hugs>> to those in need and a big :D to the rest of you. I am slowly starting to feel a bit like my old self again, although I do get tired very easily. I have adjusted my lifestyle a bit, and when I'm tired I just stop and put my feet up for an hour. That seems to re-charge my batteries a bit .I'll be glad when all the treatment has finished in the spring though. Then I really will feel well on my way to recovery.
    Have a great week-end everyone
