I'm sorry you're struggling with the new post - concentrate on getting better and hopefully a week or two without stress will help you see the best way forward.0

Trying to remain positive.
I had been saving £50 from my child benefit into my credit union account, so was able to pay January's installment of my son's South Africa trip (£300) hopefully dh will actually have work and will get paid before February's payment in due.
Bills are covered for Feb. Although we've now realised we need to fork out £60 for dh's medical certificate, as it expires on the 9th... He had been hoping to have been back in work because his employer would possibly have covered it then.
2019 wasn't supposed to be like this. I'm blaming myself for thinking that anything could actually go right for us.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Afternoon.
Still plodding along here. Dh still doesn't have work. His medical is on Friday, so at least that will be done and out the way for another 2yrs.
DS1 FINALLY passed his driving theory test yesterday :j:j:j It was his 4th attempt and he had somehow only paid for 1, whereas we had paid for 3! Not quite sure how that happened  Anyway, he has his practical driving test booked for 1st April (not sure if that is wise lol) so fingers crossed he passes 1st time and can start putting his driving lesson money towards his motorbike A2 licence and a new motorbike.
We have DS2's parents' evening tonight. I'm expecting the same old "he is doing well, but needs to get his homework done/done on time". We can hear their thoughts on his A level options too.
We might be going down to visit DS1's potential uni on Saturday. He just needs to see if he can book it off work and get us booked in to visit. I can't wait. I just need to work out whether the car will get there without a charge, or whether we need to charge on the way/way back. I can't believe my biggest baby is leaving home in 6-7mths, but I'm super proud of him for getting offers from all five of his uni choices and I'm happy as long as he's happy :A
I've started MBing again while I've been off. I managed to make about £50 last week and will make another £50 by the end of this week. It will all help. I'm just a bit sad that I have to use it for living on, rather than towards my grand plans.
Oh we have decided that by the end of this year DH will complete his supervisor training, so he hopefully won't be laid off again next winter. The firms tend to keep supervisors even in quiet periods - Just need to find the £500 to do it, on top of everything else!
I am still not sleeping, but the panic attacks have subsided (I'm am waking up and anxious but not actually having a full blown attack). My sick note runs out on Friday then it is half term, so I will still have a week until I need to return. I'm really nervous about going back.
Anyway, looks like we'll need a chippy dinner tonight (not ideal for the finances) seeing as we will be out from 4.50-6pm so it will be getting to late to cook by the time we get home and no time to cook and eat before having to leave the house! I always find parents' evening such a pita.:cool:Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Updated figures.
DS2s parents' evening went well. He's on target for excellent grades. Lack of homework was mentioned (as I knew it would be)
Bumped into a guy DH worked with before Christmas and it looks like there is no work with them. I'm getting annoyed at his lack of interest in looking outside companies he has already worked at! He needs a kick up the rear end tbh. All that happens if I mention anything is a massive row, so I am staying quiet for now. I'll put his motorbike up for sale if it gets to the end of Feb with nothing in the pipeline.
Waiting for money to move from bookies to bank accounts and then I can get some more matched betting done.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

We've been to visit DS1s uni today. It was an offer holder's, invitation only, open day.
We were all very impressed with what we saw and how friendly everyone seemed.
The accommodation looks brilliant. Most of it recently refurbed and gets checked quite often to make sure it's not being destroyed etc...
We know which accommodation he is putting as first choice, but a bit torn about 2nd, 3rd, 4th choices... but we know which is going 5th... So just need to decide between the others now... It should be open to apply soon.
Thankfully we will only need £250 to secure the accommodation, which is a bit of a relief. I was worried we would have needed the full term upfront, but they just take a deposit to hold the room, then the rest gets paid once student loans are paid out.
I'm also super pleased that our car makes it all the way there and just needs a charge before heading home, which is free at the services, so it doesn't cost us a penny to go there and back WINNER
I'm going to be in pieces when he moves out, but I know he will have a great time. And I know he'll be home to annoy me during the holidays lol.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Still plodding along. Feeling sick about returning to work on Monday; dreading the panic attacks coming back.
I get paid Sunday, but it is showing as pending into the account, which I hope means tomorrow, rather than Monday. For some reason my pay looks higher than it should be. I am guessing at maybe paying less tax, due to being out of work from Easter-September last year. They have probably calculated that I won't earn much over my free pay, so I've probably paid nearly enough tax already. The extra will be really handy to tide us over a bit longer, as we were getting close to £0 in the bank.
I've discovered another income method, but along with the other 2 ideas I have, I need to get us financially stable first...
I need to apply for jobs. I just can't face it right now. I need to get out of this one first.
We are doing well not adding to the debt mountain and carrying on paying it off, even if that is only with the minimum payments for now. I've resigned myself to the fact that it has to be that way for now and all my plans will have to be pushed back for a while.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

You are doing really really well Mel, it would be easy to slip right now with everything you have going on, and you need to be applauded for not slipping and continuing to pay things off xxDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)
