What a day yesterday was! Loads of bookie offers on and I ended up with a profit of £330 :) That will come in ever so handy.

We are paying off the scan £200 this coming week and then we are saving towards the £30pm V12 debt. We phoned for settlement figures for both of the V12 debts so have something clearer to aim for now.

I feel like we can finally start to get on top of things. I just hope dh's work continues now. We had a great chat this morning about paying debt off and dh seems on board with a few things so that is really positive. He has realised we need to try and reduce the monthlies.

He is still owed some money by his work mate, so fingers crossed he gets that tomorrow. The lad has promised it to him then. They are driving there and back tomorrow, then staying Tues to Fri. I am going to do an Aldi shop so he has some bits to take with him on Tuesday. He went to Aldi 3 times last week and spent over £40. I said that is a bit excessive for one person for 4 nights lol. I bet I can get him lunches, main meals and snacks for about half that.

I'm getting really frustrated with this guy dh is working with. He still owes us money. He paid some, but not all of it and he is just falling further and further behind. I fear we will end up not getting anywhere near what he owes us. Dh is a bit soft, but I can see that he doesn't want to fall out with him as they are working/travelling/room sharing together, so he doesn't want a bad atmosphere.

I have been doing lots of research about tax returns and other self employed stuff, now that dh is registered as such. I feel I am finally starting to get to grips with it all.

I have been quite successful with MBing lately. I'm up to £530 profit. I've used £280 to pay some of the holiday. I'm hoping to clear all of the holiday with MBing profits which then frees up wages to pay off debts.

    Woohoooo.

The V12 £200 has been paid off today. There was a £29 settlement fee, but that is preferable to the ridiculous amount of interest that would have been added on if we had let it roll onto the 3yr credit plan.

Thank you so much. It really means a lot when people are supportive. :A

Things have been really, really tough and I'm hoping we are now out the other side.

Hellooo.. It's been ages since I last popped in, but I finally have some updates, so here I am.

Dh has been in work consistently for the last 5-6 weeks. He's had this week off, but has work lined up for Monday so it's all good :)

My contract has officially finished at the awful place I was at and I have signed up to three agencies. My DBS has come back as of yesterday and I can be offered work through them.

The only slight hitch with work is that I might not accept any until next week as my neck and back are very sore/delicate/fragile... Forgetting that I am a nearly 40 yr old, overweight, unfit woman. I decided to do a forward flip on my kids' trampoline in the garden and nearly broke my neck. I ended up in A&E for 6 hours being checked and prodded and x-rayed. THANKFULLY NO BREAKS... It took 3 days until I could move my head around properly, but I am still sore and bruised, so am reluctant to take work this week. I'm basically an idiot, but hey ho. I'm sure I will be on full form for next week.

    I have other news too:

My matched betting has been going great and I've earned over £900 since starting back on it at the end of March, that has pretty much covered our accommodation, so just flights to get together now. I'm really happy with how well it has been going.

I have also started an editing business. I haven't actually had any paid work yet, but I have done two free edits, in return for reviews on my facebook page. I've also had 2 samples sent over to edit, so hopefully they take me up on my introductory prices. I'm just trying to get my name out there at the minute. I've only set this up about three weeks ago and I need to do a bit more advertising/self-promotion to get some clients.

In addition to both of those 'side-hustles' I have found a boyfriend for my doggy. The plan was always to breed her. You should never breed on first season, so we waited for her second, but I was so busy working full-time, I never got round to sorting it out. Now I'm at home a lot more, I've had time to search for a local stud and research breeding practices. I've found a lovely black bear, called Bear, not too far away and we are taking our girl to meet him at the weekend. She should be ready to accept him from Friday, so fingers crossed :)

I think that is most of my news caught up.

In terms of debts - I am still plodding along and paying monthly payments right now. I need to sit down and work out an over-payment plan, but haven't had the head space for it up until now. I'm finally starting to feel more in control of things and feel like we are finally moving forward.

I need to update the figures on the first page from this month's regular payments and then I can see where I am at.

I was actually called by the agency this morning. I'm not sure my neck/back is up to it yet, so I've explained about my stupidity and told them I will take work from next week.

I feel a little guilty turning down work, but I'm afraid of being knocked or jostled and making my neck worse. I've been sent another sample to edit, so I will get on with that and hope that I get some paying clients out of these sample edits :) I'm also outlining a book that I'm writing (which will hopefully be a series)

Still yet to look at finances properly - ooops.

So glad to hear things are looking up for you financially - excellent.

Brave woman attempting a forward flip - maybe it'll go better next time - you kust need a bit of practice. ;-)
