91 items sent to 3 different selling sites :T There were loads more they wouldn't accept
Funnily enough I'm getting more overall than I would have by car booting them, even though some of them were only 1p  :j
I have 4 boxes left now. I think 3 of them will go to charity and one will remain as it's books I thought I might like to re-read sometime before I get rid of them. Not a bad result :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
That's a good result on selling the books and dvds. Do you mind me asking how many items you sold and how much you're getting for them? Did it take you a long time to list them all? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Well done with the books and dvd's. DVD's seem to blight my life as OH won't get rid of them...also CD's. I hardly have any and the ones I do have, I do watch, but he is awful I would love to get hold of them all and list on MM, even if we only get a few ££ for the whole lot.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)
EF £200 Mortgage OP's this year £115

91 items. It worked out at 26p an item overall. Some went for more some went for 1p. It took me a while as I was manually typing in the barcodes into each site. It didn't accept a lot of them. If you have the apps on your phone you can scan the barcodes which is a lot quicker.
It probably wasn't worth it really, but the extra cash is handy, and it all depends on the types of book you have. Non-fiction is sometimes worth more than fiction. It was also a quicker way for me to get them out of the house as the drop off point is just around the corner, whereas we would have had to wait til the weekend to take them to charity.Lifeisforliving19 wrote: »Well done with the books and dvd's. Thank you. They didn't accept many of the dvds at allThey are the bane of mine too. DH has loads he has never watched and never will. The same with computer games. He has loads of PS2 games never played, and even Wii games that he never played. I sold the Wii years ago (it was mine), he still won't get rid of the games!

I've had a F&F offer from one of my creditors, offering a 70% discount  I'd so love to take this, they are offering for me to pay it over up to 6 installments too. I could probably do it over 6 months, but it would be a stretch. It would knock over £2.2k off my debt though! I probably ought to just ignore it"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

is it really doable or are you trying to convince yourself? what would it do to your debt free date? how much would it free up to set aside for other f&f?Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Wow that is a great offer Jwil :T. I'd be very tempted by that. What would be the rationale for not accepting the offer? Would it mean you couldn't afford other bills? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Difficult choice. Do you push yourself and go for it or hold out to have the financial cushion. You need a crystal ball for that one. Must be something in the air as ive been offered a settlement this week as well. Was too much so i sent a cheeky reply just to see and got an offer on 44% payable. Decisions decisions.
