I got on the scales this morning and they are up yet again :( I'm so cross with myself. I was all prepared to give up SW, but I've got to carry on and sort this out. I think changing groups has unsettled me a bit and I'm not so comfortable there, which has made me think about dropping out, but once we get used to it I'll be fine if I stick with it. It seems like a perfectly nice group, so no excuses!

I'm really sorry that this diary is just really whingey at the moment, it helps me to put my thoughts down. Feel free to ignore all my moany posts, although you all are giving me fab advice and helping to kick my a*se in gear. I really appreciate it :)

Don't dwell on the scales too much that's gone just focus on going forward. You've done it once and you can do it again. It's always difficult when changing groups none of us like change.

Sales are going well. Perhaps to get Mr jwil to shift the stuff you want gone put it round his side of the bed so he has to climb over it every night :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm doing reasonably well. I've had counselling which has helped and trying to build up a life on my own. I did go on holiday and spent what would have been our anniversary away. Christmas this year will be a non event.

You are doing great and with the determination that I know you have you'll get there x

Jwil - MH stuff is hard - I fight it too - have to keep putting one foot in front of the other - and find things to do / focus on that take me out of myself and dwelling on things. I think as women we never feel we've done enough and rarely feel we are enough and yet when we are vulnerable enough to tell people what is going on - we often find they have an almost identical experience to whatever situation we are feeling so alone in... Sadly most of us feel we are failing in some way - that's why it is so important to track progress. I couldn't and haven't done the ebay thing - where your family have listed 25 items in a week - that's mega.

You have also reminded me I need to reclaim tax on payout from packaged bank accounts and ppi

  • You're not moaning at all Jwil, you're just telling it like it is and that's fine :). I moan all the time on my diary as you'll have noticed :rotfl:. People want to help and so many people are going through the same thing but feel unable to talk about it, so feel a sense of relief when someone else does :).

For my mental health I've found avoiding alcohol, cutting down on sugar, regular walks in the fresh air and listening to upbeat music all help my mood. Seeing family and friends can help my mood too, as being alone with your thoughts for too long is never good. Also reading can help but it has to be the right book, ditto with films or tv programmes. DH and I are watching Jonathan Creek at the moment as I'm in the mood for a bit of escapism. Other times I'm okay with realism, but it's whatever helps your mood at the time.

It's great news that DH sold 25 items, any extra cash helps and it gradually frees up space :T. I'd like to know the name of the author too that DH's mother collected?

    Morning lovely,

Just caught up with your diary.

I too think you are an inspiration, you do so much that I don't think you give yourself credit for.

Exercise is a great idea and so is dancing like a loony around the house lol

Yay to great ebay sales and boo to the idiot over the address, hope that the package turns up.

Who is the author of the books that DH's mum collected?

    Have a lovely day xx

    Thank you :)

It's Angela Thirkell, I have no idea what sort of books they are, just know we went to great lengths to find a couple she was missing.

Thank you :) Sadly his side of the bed is by the door so I'd still be falling over it :rotfl:

I'm glad you are doing ok and the counselling has helped. I know Christmas will be hard this year, are you spending it with your family?

You've handled everything thrown at you this year so well x

    Thank you :)

Yes, you are right, we do beat ourselves up.

I hope you get some tax back, I have no idea whether I am due anything!

Thank you :) I don't drink, I eat far too much sugar though and this isn't helping my mood or my health.

I find being with people exhausting though and so need time alone to refresh. I think with the constant 'doing stuff' and juggling, this is having an impact on me. I just feel like it's constant demands from the second I wake up until the second I go to bed.

Reading is my escape but I definitely have times when I need something light and fluffy, or a fast moving crime book rather than anything I need to concentrate on. I'm the same with TV, I'm working my way through Black books at the moment as it's lightweight.

I'm reading Lethal White by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling) at the moment, it's one of the ones I've been looking for for ages and spotted in the other town's library last week. I really enjoy the Strike books and thought the BBC adaptation was great.

  • You are doing just fine. You are not moaning and even if you were so what? I notice you are all over the DF diaries encouraging and supporting other people despite your own situation. If only you could be as nice to yourself as you are to other people. Have a relaxing evening :)

It's payday today, hurrah! I need to sit down and sort out all the finances.

Because DH is covering half term this week, he has taken both the kids out today :T I'm working from home and it's so nice to have the quiet, away from the office and everyone. It means I can also get on top of admin etc.

I'm not going to stay to SW tonight. I'll weigh and go. None of my sw friends are there tonight, and I can't face yet another week of saying it's not working for me at the moment. I know I've got a gain again. I'll use the time to spend time with DH and the kids, I've been doing such long hours recently.
