One point for the future: when you do next get a credit card it would be worth avoiding preloading it in the way you describe, as this will contravene the Ts & Cs of practically any of them, so creating a positive balance makes it more likely that a card will be cancelled, not less likely!chilswelluk wrote: »The crazy thing is I have had a lot of credit cards over the years, but they have always been cancelled by the bank for lack of use. I even paid 10 pence a month onto one card, so I had a positive balance. They even cancelled that one!
So, as advised above, use a card regularly and properly, i.e. to pay for things, and you should be fine....0

I applied for an Amazon Platinum card on the back of this post, thinking I could buy stuff on Amazon straight away and get my £20 Amazon gift voucher. I was planning on spending this month, but putting on to next months budget, as I would pay balance in full. Anyway, it took 3 days for them to approve, but no card number or security code. I have to wait for the physical card to come in the post lolsazaccount wrote: »Amazon credit card gave me the card no and the security code straight away but they had a limit of £500 you could spend before having the physical card...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

            The instant spend is £500.
So the likely means your credit limit will be less than that0

PayPal credit gives instant spend, but not sure if section 75 applies to that type of account.0

I was referred for a review because I filled out the application incorrectly. I included entertainment in my monthly outgoings. When Amazon/New Day phoned me this afternoon, they were saying my monthly expenses were too high for someone in my circumstances and should not include entertainment. When I removed the entertainment expenses they approved me straight away. I never thought to ask about the limit. I'll post again once I get the card. The instant spend is £500.

I’ve never found NewDay to be particularly generous with their credit limits!0

I've just got the card and have been given a £500 credit limit lol. I'm almost insulted, but then it was my 7th credit application in the past month, so it is hardly surprising...I’ve never found NewDay to be particularly generous with their credit limits!I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
