  • Thanks themadvix and fortune yep your right it could of been worse. The worse I've saved for later in the week. A recurring health issue has raised its ugly head again, so another trip to the GP and another referral to the hospital....oh joy can't wait. So she think I may have a polyp in my womb that is causing ongoing issues and will have to have a camera inserted you know where!!!!!! The joys of getting older probablyTMI, but there you go. Think I may just fast forward this week and hopefully it will improve.
We are moving into tier 2 at the weekend, but luckily we can still see mum as she is in our support bubble, so she won't have to move in again. DD1 moves into tier 2 also, so we won't be able to take her out for a meal. It will have to be a picnic job instead. I went to see my sister and her mum but couldn't go into the house as they are already in tier 2. Her mum was not amused that I refused to go in as she had made tea, even though I said it would have to be outside the day before. It kept raining on and off all afternoon so said I wasn't stopping. Once I explained that the hubbster asthma is not good at the moment and has had to put on stronger drugs and is been sent for an x ray she seemed to accept my decision. Although the conversation was abit bizarre. She said people needed to use their common sense and she'd not been near anyone lately (a dig maybe?????) and then I said it was a shame that all those people who had adhered to the guide lines, it almost seemed a wasted effort, her reply was 'well thats because people not adhering to the guidelines'. Made me chuckle, not sure she was listening to what she was saying.
Been to the allotment and harvested another pumpkin, we had it roasted last night with a salad, the rest will be used at the weekend. Right best get sorted as need to visit the allotment again as need to harvest tea - veggie stirfry.Must remember to pop in at my friends house to feed her rats as she is away at the moment.

Eek CR, that sounds like an unpleasant experience - but better to get it checked out.

Had a similar round-in-circles conversation with my Dad about restrictions and people obeying/not obeying the guidelines.

CR, you poor thing!  Thats a horrible few days, really bad :( Thankfully for me, I don't have to face those circular conversations nowadays ... but I had enough of them in times past to know how it goes.  Good luck with it all.  And I hope the bruising heals up really quickly.
PS - I'm catching up, so just to say I *love* the idea of a cleaning station at the allotment!

  • Hello CR, I just wanted to say thanks I really enjoyed reading your diary! I am having to sit and distract myself at the moment, so I've read from start to finish. I love your writing style and how you see the funny side of everything. You should consider writing as a career!

Thanks themadvix, karmacat, earthgirl2 and fortune for your well wishes and supportive comments.
Trying to focus on the positives of the camera situation, other than the obvious health benefits, like my innards will be on tv, I wonder if they will let me see them as I'm very curious as to what it looks like. My knees on the other hand are currently a riot of colours from the bruising, my right knee although isn't as pretty as the other but I can feel the ligamnets and tendons moving whenever I walk which very weird.
DD1 has rung to say she is currently in lockdown as someone in her house has tested positive. Luckily she and the others have been prepared and have plently of food in and are going to club together to have a morrisons delivery if they get short of anything. 6 of them have decided to club together and cook once a week as a group to cut costs,so appparently tonight its lasgana. So we won't be visiting this week or next.
My cleaning station at the alloment is finished and is fab, I am so pleased with it and it makes such a difference. No more dirty veggies clogging up my sink and the water can be recycled into the water butts, plus saves me money as we are on a water meter at home. Harvested cabbage, french beans(although these are almost finished) apples, carrots, brussel sprouts (homegrown so much nicer than shop bought) leeks (although we seems to have ended up with leek leaf miner, which means we are having to strip alot of the outer leaves off before we get a decent leek), swiss chard and turnips. These have been turned into multiple meals, some good but others although were not dog or bin worthy they are not to be repeated ever ever again. FIL, the hubbster and DD2 made 5 demi johns of cider and 1 demi john of applejuice which will be frozen in some little bottles that DD2 old TA has got us from school.
Managed to sort DD2 with another batch of clothes which we combined with practical maths skills. Only had to take 1 item back which was good as I hate going into town these days. After 2 weeks of DD2 using my exercise watch ,we have seen her moving about alot more. So today we went and got her one. Took me awhile to set it up but its up and running. We are trying to encourage her to do 1000 steps each day, anymore at the moment would floor her. Hopefully over the next couple of months we can increase it . The physio was really pleased with her as she has managed to maintain her range of movements and gave us a few more exercises. She does however need new insoles and boots as her feet are turning in, which would explain her recent falls.
Been food shopping today and i'm back to washing everything before I put it away which is a royal pain in the bum, but such is life at the moment.
    POSITIVES
    1) MMMMMMmmmmmm home grown veggies are the best.
    2) DD1 been prepared like the good girl scout that she is.
    3) Life in general is good
Take care everyone and stay safe.

Sounding good, CR!  I had insoles and foot lessons as a little kid, couldn't walk properly (flat feet!  pah!) and they really, really do the trick.  So will the added steps too, good on you both.

From what I recall, when people I know have had cameras stuck up or down their GI tract they've been able to watch - hth!

The cleaning station sounds excellent - so much nicer than carrying all the mud into the kitchen. As does DD2's progress with the steps - that sounds really promising - good for her! Imagine it's good to know that DD1 has got a good crowd stuck in with her - for them to have a cooking rota is very organised from what I remember of first year of uni! Although I guess it's not like any of them are going out anywhere (even when not self-isolating).

  • Been a good day, we booked to go in the local NT site with my mum. My mum remarked that everyone looked really miserable which I expect is down to the current covid restrictions in the area. We however really enjoyed ourselves. DD2 spent a happy couple of hours picking leaves up with my litter picker, they are currently drying sandwiched between a couple of bed sheets weighted down with books. Tomorrow hopefully we will fix them onto jars to make autumn candle holders for the garden. We are planning on suprising her grandma and grandad to say thank you  with drinks in the garden by candlelight tomorrow night. Well that is as long as its not raining. Other than that not alot going on here, looking forward to bake off later.
    POSITIVES
    1) Homemade picnic in the park and the sun graced us with her presence - bliss
    2) DD2 very motivated for her next project - added benefit of lots of hand and eye co-ordination practice
    3) Lots of beautiful leaves
