I dont take any camera as been off, I saw a plod with a radar gun stood in a bush on a bridge on the A417. Plus now i gather they are using unmarked vans as well. Its one massive cash cow end of. Yet when we got unwanted visitors in our house a few years ago they couldnt be bothered to come and even take a finger print or show any interest whatsoever bar a incident number.
That's because the police force is having to make huge cuts.
How can you complain about police forces fining speeding drivers and then in the same paragraph complain that they don't come and help you when someone burgles your house? You should be wanting them to fine even more drivers to help fund their services.
You want to break the law without consequence, but then have the police come running to your aid when someone breaks the law and it affects you.0 -

Why, they don't see any of the money so how would it help in burglary investigations.0 -
The M42 (or that bit of it at least) is covered by a smart traffic management system. Essentially the speed limit goes up and down depending on the traffic levels. If the signs are off, so are the cameras.
Not any more. It has been widely advertised by various forces that the cameras now remain active at all times on many stretched of smart motorway. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I don't know about you, but I'm not sure how much use a safety camera partnership would be in the event of a break in :huh:0 -
Ah got you, I guess I just need to hope when I sped up to overtake in the outside lanes I did slow down enough for the cameras
Lesson learnt.
This demonstrates the problem with cameras being used as a blunt instrument. Many people drive with the presence of cameras in mind, not on what the speed limit is.0 -

Well no,
what I mean is I only went into speed ticket territory to overtake whilst having an Audi up my rear but whilst overtaking if any road markings were visable I did slow down to delay the overtake but it may not have been enough0 -
I was driving north on the M42 last week, between J4 and J5 IIRC, and for the first time ever on that route I saw a camera flash on the southbound carriageway. So there definitely are cameras that flash, and it's very bright, so if it was one of those and you didn't see a flash I'd think you're probably safe.0

I can't remember the last time I travelled along that stretch and the limit wasn't reduced.0 -

Hi everyone, it is now 15 days since I made this journey. we have had two weekends and a bank holiday since.
Should I have had a letter through the post by now? Is it 14 working days or 14 days or do they have longer to issue?
Thanks:)0
