And then you have services like this...
Some companies have quite obviously made use of such things.0 -
I wonder do you think it’s good service to laugh at grieving relatives or to make up accounts that don’t exist? Your responses seem more likely trolling than fellow MSE poster.
I don't always agree with Eskbanker but this is an unwarranted attack.
Your 100 odd posts in 10 years would seem more like trolling than Eskbanker's 4000 odd posts in the same period.
Just because you don't agree with him doesn't mean you need to kneejerk a "troll" response. But I guess I am maybe a fellow troll.0 -
I'm another one who regards Trustpilot as a total joke.
On one of the specialist aviation forums there was a thread running a few years back of a total scam for the purchase of aviation equipment together probably with the approvals paperwork as one is required to have all with "wonderful Trustpilot" reviews.
I would not believe anything I read on it.
Its the same with many of these review sites or review pages on a shop front which all seem to suffer some or both of
1. Plagued with fake/false positive and negative reviews posted by competitors and others with "axes to grind".
2. Negative reviews from people who have no idea what they doing, cannot understand the product, should not be using it and frankly should not be left in charge of anything more complicated than a fridge.
Meanwhile the 50000 people who bought the product and use it quite happily and are quite satisfied do not write a review as they have better things to do with their lives.
Do you remember the 25000 complaints about Heathrow noise which turned out to all submitted by the same 10 people who later forgot about the clocks changing so complained about a noise flight before it had landed/passed them.
All totally fake done on an automatic basis.0 -
The likes of truspilot and tripadvisor have their flaws, however, they are useful tools when considered together with other sources.e.G. consumer forums.
As for companies specialising in increasing trustpilot scores. They are bound to exist, however, their success may be quite limited, unless those claiming they are successful can show evidence to the contrary.0 -
And on cue come the attacks from the usual suspects. How many times I post on mse seem more likely to validate my non troll status to me e.g. I’ve got better things to do with my time. However from my limited experience and regardless of which way my outcome went my experience is the ombudsman service is poor. On the occasion I did have to use it many years ago it was far better and I’m not the only one with this view. By the way you can’t have it all ways by attacking those that make, in your view too frequent complaints and myself not enough for your liking :rotfl: it does seem on here one encounters a team of attackers rather than helpers these days. How sad.0

Yes I very much agree and have always found it to be very useful and pretty reliable. When both the public, journalists and govt bodies think the ombudsman isn’t quite up to scratch I think it says it all.
P.s. sorry about what the attack poster said about my “monolithic complaint” (which they still managed to read and take quotes from ) but these type of attacks in an attempt to appear a smart Alec are enough to put people off coming on this forum for good. Good job I couldn’t care less what this type think isn’t it? Thanks for those that actually graciously support and discuss the subject like adults though.0 -
