You made a flippant remark about a 'bad news day' and the next thing we know you are getting yourself into a complete lather because this comment has been challenged. I detect a fragile ego.

I made no comment about a 'Bad news day'. :)

This is me getting myself into a complete lather:

Becks may have been told that they 'May' get fined up to £20,000, but Becks045 wasn't told that they would be fined £20,000.

If it annoys you so much, why don't you go and move it? There has been all the advice given that can be given.

All those wanting some crusade need to set up a campaign and march to the House of Commons with a petition.

It reminds me of a thread a few months back where some geezer was complaining about some rubbish left in the garden by the vendor of a house he'd just purchased. (In fact this gives me an idea. :D )

You obviously haven't seen me in a lather. :D
If you put your bin out too early, that is a £1000 fine.

Are you sure that you don't want to insert the word 'may' in that sentence. :A

So you make the OP's problem, everyone elses.

No wonder I lose over 40% of my income to the Govt.

Why does nobody seem to want to sort anything out for themselves any more?

if it is in the street the council are obliged to remove it, if some councils can do a free rubbish collection they all could. This OP has paid council tax she just wants them to provide a service

The cost of removing this fridge is a drop in the ocean compared to the amount of your money being paid out for council officials jollies and all those other 'essentials' they do

I once allowed a "man" who knocked my door and offered to trim my conifer trees to do it..
e and his gang did a bit of a shoddy job and left.
    Paid him £30 cash.
Walking the dog later I found my own trees dumped on the school field.

I will use someone with an advert in the paper next time.
“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”

Our council used to do a free large items collection. This FY they decided to charge £15 per collection. They did all their sums. The service is running at a defecit now because they are paying staff for doing nothing. They are also complaining at the increase in fly tipping on council land and the increased cost of clearing it. Now, I can count and add 2 and 2 together. I bet I come up with a different answer to the thickos at the council .....

You might come up with a different answer but that wouldn't necessarily be the right one.

You say the service now runs at a deficit. How much did it make before charging £15?

I would just push it onto the street. How can they possibly prove that it is the same fridge that you called about?

They don't need to prove it's the same fridge, only that the OP dumped a fridge and I'm sure some public-spirited (aka busy-body) neighbour would help to do so.

    That'll be me then ;):D

But I would also challenge anyone I saw flytipping and give them the opportunity to move on, with their rubbish.

Problem is, that you don't know if they simply drive down the road and dump it somewhere else .... so I'd report it anyway :D
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
