so Tesco mobile cannot unlock it as another poster suggested.

Try another Sim in it other than GiffGff and see do you get the same message
  • Hi have not asked Tesco mobile to unlock as it is not on their network. But will ask tomorrow. Tried. another SIM Get same message

Is not Tesco unlocking for its 'Tesco mobile' network only?

Your Tesco Mobile pay as you go phone will be free to unlock 12 months after it was activated.

Ahh, you noticed the deliberate flaw in my otherwise cunning plan :(

You've been advised to try Vodafone's Web Relation's Team via the instructions at the beginning of the sticky thread. What happened then? They're your best hope.

Make sure you've made some recent calls with the Voda SIM to match the IMEI with the SIM.
  • The nuc department at Vodafone said it was already unlocked!! So I told them it was not and quoted the message 'Enter SIM ME Lock (NP) remains 10' which I get with all new SIM's tried. Their reply"Thank you for getting in touch about unlocking your phone. To do this, you need a network unlock code (NUC) from us"

So we keep going around the same circle every time. Not heard from the Vodafone unlocking team for a few days now.

Will try Tesco Mobile on Monday, so as to add more confusion to this saga!!

We're not telling you to try the NUC Team, but the Web Relations Team, who have been known to solve the unsolvable.
  • The web relations team have stated "NUC CODE: NOT LOCKED
    1. Insert a non Vodafone Sim 2. Turn on the handset. The device will prompt to enter the Unlocking Code 3. Enter the Unlocking Code 4. Press OK "

What is this code and where do I get it Its a giffgaff SIM and o2 network. I am totally confused now!!!

'NOT LOCKED'........is that the code?........am confused as well
  • Cannot be, the key pad will only let you enter numbers. When I reply to the email I get a postmaster reply in German!!!

This instruction 'enter SIM ME Lock (NP)' surely has to mean something. A second unlocker has no record of the IMEI either.
