If they have found my number and have my address can they turn up at the door ?
No they can't ... unless you have some other UK-based issue, like a UK speeding offence, driving offence or council parking penalty unpaid - just check your credit rating (Experian and the like) to see if you have an unsatisfied CCJ. Even then, they'd need to give you notice if any impending visit.

But if this is anything to do with a non-UK issue, they ain't gonna turn up.
if they do will the police help me ?
Yes, they should. If you haven't got their phone number ....... here it is! 999.
the Geordie sounding lady said she was from a debt collection agency and that she would call back in an hour or so but hasn’t done (yet)
Can I assume you've done the obvious?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks for answering - Is the the obvious to block the number?  - if not please spell it out - I might sound a bit naive but I just haven’t had anything like this before (I have no debt issues and looked at experian only the other day)
