  • Annnd....I'm buying a new tent tomorrow.

He is so cleaning the s*dding kitchen from top to bottom before we leave to make up for this, as I'm foregoing replacing my walking boots for this.

jojo hugs and supportive thoughts. I won't ask if he's learnt anything from this.
Miscellany of stuff this week as usual, but spent time sorting out scams. After last week's dishonest solar panel "service company", the proper engineer came today and replaced our inverter under warranty - very helpful and sadly with many tales to tell about all the rogue companies. Then at the weekend I paid my cc bill to see 4 unfamiliar transactions. I queried one on line but the others were in "pending" so I rang and reported them yesterday. Unless I have been paying a US real estate agent in my sleep, twice, and a US finance service, someone has been phishing my details. I haven't lost my card, so they sent me a new one.

Other than that, lounge, dining room and kitchen were good as mil came to dinner on Sun eve. Have culled loads of emails and done various admin stuff. Lots of gym, feeding birds, watering etc.

    Flymeet tomorrow!

    Home sweet home .

Looking forward to it looking like home. With revived 0lants... clearly instructing someone not to water an orchid means nothing will be watered in case it's an orchid.

    Orchid looks fine...

Everything else was bone dry 'in case that was the one I hadn't to water', so NOTHING, indoors or out, got watered....

    I wouldn't mind but they're effing graduates...

Jersey airport is a hotbed of honesty.

    phew!

    I still have an ipad

Garden weeded a bit more, plus got some weeds out of the lawn.
Sorted out a heap of OH's papers, (yes he could do them, but that would be some time in the future, I haven't actually thrown anything out yet! but the heap is now neat and tidy.

    Morning all

Awake stupidly early worrying about DS2s AS Level results today, worrying about the amount of stuff to do at work (and home), worrying about the squeaky steering on DS1s car ... you get the picture.

So I thought I would get up. We are away at the weekend staying in a camping pod (or shed according to hubby) for a bit of down time. I am so tired.

Oh and I have developed some kind of rare problem with my eyes linked to my underactive thyroid which is not helping how I feel at the moment.

Flying is fairly minimal, the teenagers have been helping but the house could be better (mind you it could be worse I suppose).

Onwards and upwards, want to get into work early so I can take DS to collect his results later. Need food shopping too.
  • Today may be my birthday, but it's also a flying day. I've had two crazy days at work and things have got out of hand. Prepare for a mammoth list:

Wash all the washing (probably 3/4 loads inc next size up clothes for Pickle)
Hang all wet washing up (will have to be inside due to the wet stuff falling from the sky.
Pack for weekend away at friend's
    Tidy our bedroom
    Pickle's bedroom
    Bathroom
    Hall/stairs/landing
    Living room
    Dining room
    Kitchen
    (Some rooms aren't too bad)
Slice & ice my birthday cake.
    Stuff to cellar
    Stuff to loft office.
    Buy Pickle a potty!

I shall add where I think of stuff.

    :bdaycake:
    Happy Birthday, wish.

We arrived home just before 10.00 yesterday evening after 3 very enjoyable days away, culminating in the planned Flymeet yesterday. A delicious pub lunch was followed by an amble (at DH's pace) round the local RSPB reserve where all the feathered inhabitants apart from a single swan, a handful of mallards and a couple of coots kept themselves so well hidden that we couldn't spot them :rotfl: Great to meet you and MrN at last, Narc0!

    Today I have to
    - [STRIKE]check online banking[/STRIKE] - nothing suspicious found
    - WMx1
    - S&S kitchen
    - write 3 thank-you notes
    - write up my new diary to the end of this month. On Monday evening, when I had planned to finish the whole year, I opened it but wrote nothing - am I somehow in denial about the future?
    - collect Rosie from kennels: hopefully she has been groomed, so £££ needed; also slightly rearrange date of her visit in September
    - start preparing things for church on Sunday
    - do the GASDS claim
    - give Rosie a nice long walk when it stops raining: I need to walk off some of the food I've eaten this week: not exactly Slinky atm
    - sort out which quilts I'm keeping and which one is going to the CS (this tadpole is fast becoming a frog)
    - free up storage space on my computer by transferring all except the most recent photos to the external hard drive
    - download photos off my phone

Will see you all later. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round x

    Happy birthday Wishing! :bdaycake:
The kittens were finally able to go back out into the yard and play for a couple of hours last night while OH and I finished putting the fencing up. I need some long white cable ties and then the pots need re-positioning, but the slog is over and done with. After a couple of hours they were wandering in and out of their own accord, so I fed them and shut the kitchen door; normally it's been 'a thing' to get them in so that's huge progress and a huge relief.

Some of the lobelia is dying off and I saw a load of gorgeous purple pansies that would look fab instead and resisted buying them. I'm not creating a rod for my own back again. Either OH can work with me over the weekend or it can wait until we've got the time.

I think I may have sniffed bleach in the ensuitte, too, and I certainly didn't put it there.

Sometimes having an epic meltdown is the only way to get the message across. I wish it hadn't been necessary but I'd tried everything else.

Volunteering today and then if I can get an appointment for Kelps with a particular vet that's all of today's commitments so I can make progress on my in tray.
    Better is good enough.
