Big sigh!*** OH been made redundant - again!. Third time in three years. Everytime I think i am getting back on my feet......

    How awful :(

I was made redundant 6th December 2004, I did manage to find a job quickly but its terrible. What kind of work did he do? People might be able to suggest a few (big) companys to try

Don't worry we will be okay.... I have to admit, my first thought was 'I hope I can still go to the birmingham meet in Jan!!!:rotfl: '

    Second thought was oh F**k!!!

Third thought - give us a glass of wine.......

Worse things have happened and having been to three funerals in as many months, one of them being a friend of the same age who knew she was dying for two years and planned her own funeral, I am inclined to think at least I have my health and my family....

That's a good way of looking at it. And you will be okay - sometimes things seem bleak but they always have a way of working themselves out in the end.

And the wine will help! :D

Oh Sammy, sorry to read of OH redundancy but :j for having a positive outlook on the whole thing.

To update anyone who hasn't been on my diary in the last hour or so, I was offered the job, possibly 2 days a week, possibly 4.

Then about half an hour ago I got an email from them offering me an alternative of a full time job.

    I am on cloud nine.:j :j :j :j

This is because of NOrthern Rock. Oh well, I am gutted for him, he is so devastated. I just know we will get through it cos we have been there, done that and got the t-shirt.. The good news is that his co have to go through 30 days consultation and then he has a three month notice period in his contract so we will be okay for christmas.....

I came home from work and we went the pub so I am a little squiffy right now!

    That's such a shame Sam.

LOL, he is a software developer and he seems to have a knack of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The job before this one was for the company who did all the dodgy dealing with the gmtv telephone stuff - the job was pretty bad and he was glad to go. This time he had a job with a company who arranged mortgages for the adverse credit market.. Then Northern Rock happened!

I think he may try to contract this time round....
