Thanks Olive,
My name was part of an old user ID on the forum I used to whittle away my work hours on, only shineyhappypeople was a little long so I dropped off the people bit. I do try and be a bit perky though as sometimes its either perky all the way or being very down.
I hope the money issue is sorting out very soon for you. I think we all know how little upsets can make us very depressed and I know we all work so hard at getting debt free that even a small set back is crushing. Unfortunatly these things happen and we just have to grin and bear it, but at least his work will cover any charges.Debt Free - done

Great ID.
I find it's the little upsets that get to me more, for some reason big things I'm ok with as generally they can't be changed, but the little things are sometimes down to stupidity or carelessness... I don't like them.Current debt - £16,300

Yea I can relate to that. The smaller things often hit you harder than the big ones!!Shineyhappy wrote: »

Definatly!
I got an unexpected bill (well 2 actually) both for 65 pounds for ground rent that my managment company forgot about!! Luckily I was 65 pounds in credit on my water bill so that was half of it, but even so it was out of the blue and unaccounted for shocks really get to you a lot more than the big bills which you know are coming!
I so cant wait until I have some savings so these little blows wont matter so much!Debt Free - done

Toto, if you are ever up in Norwich seeing family (or bands or whatever) give us a shout - the Norfolk Posse would be thrilled to say hello somewhere!!
The UEA is a fab venue and they have really managed to up the ante as far as quality bands are concerned in the last couple of years. It used to be one of the places for wannabees but now we get people who are a real life hit!!
Right, off to clean my teeth, put my lippy on and get on!!

Olive, when my dad worked abroad in 1999 and the bill had gone missing (our postie was on the fiddle - later imprisoned for it), mum phoned to find out how much she owed and they said "won't talk to you, not your account". Mum suggested they phone dad in Australia / America or whereever it was! A week later dad sent them a legally notarised document stating that mum could speak on his behalf about the credit card....the cc I missed phoned last night and wouldn't speak to me. "Data protection act; I can only speak to Mr"
"But I'm a card holder on this account, he's abroad and I pay it each month"
effin DP act, I hate it when they hide behind that.
To this date, that is still legal and she will still phone up. Its quite funny listening to her tell them to 'check your records and you'll see that you received the authority from my husband back in 2000'.
I hope your day becomes less pooey!
