Isn't that a false analogy, though? Those are taxes on use that have a social purpose in mind. There's no sense in which the TV Licence is a deterrent to use/to excess - at least, not yet

If anyone wants to watch live coverage of the Election without a TV Licence legally, LBC is looking pretty comprehensive and various newspapers also have live video streams.

Thanks for that. I know I'm paranoid but will anyone know that we've already clicked on some live news channels while trying to work out what/how to watch? Surely people must click on these by mistake all the time as they're scattered amongst so many other channels?.

Although strictly speaking, it is still an offence, in practice this is not how TV Licensing approach enforcement.
