I`ve just received this from Octopus who say they have billed my account based on the meter readings I gave on the 5th September (there are no actual bills this is showing in my account history)

    Your balance -£44.57

    September 2018

    Your balance was then -£44.57

    Gas
    -£10.35
    4th Sep 2018
    We charged you

    Your balance was then
    -£34.22

    Electricity
    -£55.60
    4th Sep 2018
    We charge you

    Your balance was then
    £21.38

    Solr balance transfer
    -£5.42

    1st Sep 2018
    We credited you
    Your balance was then
    £26.80

    Solr write off
    £26.80
    1st Sep 2018

    Account opened on:
    31st July 2018

At least I know what I owe but its rather confusing. Has anyone else heard from them?

I`ve just noticed they are showing bank account details for DD, we have not given them these details (cancelled Iresa DD) and nothing is showing on bank account as being set up. Anyone know if they will take a DD or would this be information they have got from Iresa? thanks again
  • Has anyone else had problems with their Iresa final bill. They initially came to me with a massive bill (£600), I contested it 4 times, each time they have said they got it wrong and come back with a new total and is now at £50! How could they have got it so wrong? How many other people have they done this to and people have just paid the amount they have said?

    Doesn't seem right to me!

Same here - if they do take anything by DD , I will be straight on to my bank to get it reversed. They have no agreement with me for a direct debit and I'm not strictly a customer as I switched last Tuesday.

EDIT - no update on my Octopus balance even tho' I gave them a reading on 31st Aug.

Presume that I will get a "final" bill when they get my verified start read from my new supplier.

Same here no update or bill for 31st August reading, no acknowledgement of switch, DD due in a few days they had better not try and take it already in credit by more than I've used. Will give them a couple of weeks then will start chasing final bill and refund.

To be fair to Octopus, they are probably knee deep in admin. paperwork, as I suspect, a lot more of us switched away asap, than they had expected. Provided they don't take anything by DD ,I'll owe them ~ £70 + ,so I won't be chasing the final bill:rotfl:

Unfortunately they'll owe me, although it won't be a lot unless they decide to take the DD.

Well Octopus didn't attempt to take a D.D (as far as I'm aware) and the changeover reading I gave to the new supplier is now showing on Octopus website:T so presumably "verified".

All I need now is a final bill from them - but since I owe them not the other way around, they can take as long as they like:D

Well 2 months in, and Octopus continue to take direct debits and my account ballance is racking up, but they seem totally incapable of creating a bill and actually using some of that ballance to pay for my electricity, in spite of me keep sending them readings.

They are beginning to make IRESA look good.

There are no longer any meter readings showing on my Octopus account, even though I previously had a start read and an end of august read, no DD seems to have been taken as yet though so at least that has worked.
