If something is left on her doorstep, why doesn't she just move them outside the entrance door? That way the council can't say that she's at fault as they're not being delivered to her - they're being "fly tipped" by the delivery courier. ;):D

Thanks, but that doesn't solve the issue. It also potentially attracts other people to the flat who are unwanted. And if nobody takes them? I think you can see the dilemma here (at least I can)
That's what I mean - if she takes them into her property she's taking it upon herself to look after them, but if she just leaves them where they are outside then they're nothing to do with her.

She can't leave them outside her door. The council have already written to her.

Furthermore just leaving them outside her door isn't practical anyway. That would be an excellent way of attracting unwanted attention.

She's in involuntary baillee if she is taking them into her home, why they are not just being rejected beats me, possible wind up tbh.

Possible wind up? Thanks for your help.

The parcels are addressed to the same name every time, right?

Can anyone think of a reason not to post the name? Maybe they can be tracked down online.

Just wondering... my address is like A/B, XYZ Streetname, and I've had in the past problems with bits going missing in forms - stuff has been delivered to A Streetname which is the opposite end of the road. Could something like that be happening? Although why the person at the other end hasn't figured it out and/or had their amazon account suspended is beyond me...

Personally, I'd remind the council your mum isn't liable for the actions of a third party, that the parcels arent being left by and don't belong to anyone known to the tenant, let alone living there and that they should take their issue up with the party responsible or quote the legal basis (ie regulations or case law) which gives your mum liability for the actions of a third party who are not just acting without her direction contractual or otherwise, but against her wishes. They're leaving it on council land, not your mums. If they don't listen then a local councillor or MSP. If there are local pages (local to your mums area i mean), try asking on there....some councillors/MSPs are more helpful and proactive than others and constituents should have experience of dealing with them.

Councils can be bad for overreaching beyond what the law actually permits. Dont be afraid to challenge them in unfair situations such as this.

Again, I appreciate how frustrating it can be. Even more so when you're trying to do it from a distance.

Assuming that this isn't a school holiday wind up...

I had a different issue with Amazon early this year. Contacting customer services was useless as they are outsourced to different countries, and they cannot deal with anything that isn't on their script. I did try a couple of times, though, before giving up.

Then, I turned to social media. I posted that I was very disappointed that Amazon were unable to solve a problem of their own making, and that as a customer, I shouldn't be left in the position that I was. The same day, I emailed the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos.

Firstly, a social media agent left a reply to my message, asking me to fill in a form (he provided a link). I did so, reluctantly. The form asked for a phone number, and I was contacted very quickly by an Amazon employee with an Irish accent. As English was his first language, it was so much easier to expalin the problems to him. He acted immediately. Within 24 hours, everything was sorted out. I also received a £15 gift voucher as an apology (not necessary, but handy for me).

The following day, I received an email from someone in Jeff Bezos' office. They said that they could see that Graham (the man who sorted it all out so quickly) had dealt with the issues, but that since part of it was regarding a dishonest driver, they would contact the manager of the depot themselves, and deal with it. In the meantime, they would credit my account with a further £10 as an apology.

Now, I wasn't concerned about being compensated, I just wanted my issues dealt with quickly, and by someone who could actually understand what I was talking about. Incidentally, I don't speak with a strong accent. It may be worth you contacting Amazon via Facebook to ask for one of their specialist advisors to ring you. That way, your mum should stop receiving unwanted goods.

After posting on their Facebook page, Amazon contacted me within an hour, and everything was sorted out by the following morning.

If you've got nothing useful to say, don't say it.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I can't help but be confused by this.

What delivery driver just dumps parcels outside a front door, every single time? Outside the front door is not considered a safe place for any delivery company.

What fraudster does this for months now and never bothers to try and get the goods.

What legit person orders all these goods. Never gets delivery and still keeps ordering more?

For fraud, what person losses all this money on fraud for months and never complains to get it stopped? This is very easily traceable.

There are more questions than answers on this one as it's almost as if it's to unbelievable to be true. Just playing devils advocate of course.

And yes the schools are still on holiday to the poster that asked.

Bris - this is a block of flats, so the front door is out of the wind/rain and not in view of the street.

If I had to guess - there's a bug somewhere duplicating or inventing orders. That is the only reason I can think for the system and the people involved not picking it up.
