So - as August is the month that I actually have time to get stuff done I've had time to sit and do my budget today and am ready to go for August.
The flowers for August are the Gladioli and the Poppy which represents beauty, strength, love, marriage and family.
So for August we are going to pick one of the above to work on – if you feel you have let your skincare routine go...
I have let my entire self go over the past few years... and skincare is one of the things I'm determined to do for myself this month. As always though, my family comes first. And we're having 3 (yes 3!) trips away during August in a bid for some quality family time.
Aim – for 15 NSD’s this month.
I will aim for 15 but with a total of 11 days away from home that may be tough. However, I do have my budget for being away.
Update (Budgets) – instead of just setting budgets for the month I want you all to look at any direct debits/standing orders/continuous payment authorities and check to see if you still need or use them. If you don’t get cancelling.
Also make sure you pay to debts first this month and also put some in savings.
I've very recently done this, and have actually started up another dd, which is for YNAB though so I'm sticking with that. You have reminded me of one account I need to close so I'm going to put that on my annoying jobs list.
I have debt at the moment, on a credit card, which I pay off every month and then run up again during the month. Hopefully a bit less each month though.
Get (prepared for Xmas)
I have indexed and sorted all of my wool, and my family and friends need to get prepared for lots of knitted or crocheted goods from me for Christmas. I am stressing about sorting Christmas for the kids though, but I will not worry too much just yet - I have a tiny savings pot building up again.
Utilise (free activities in your area)
This fills me with dread, as free events are always massively crowded and I get very stressed out in a big group of people. The most I can promise here is to pack a picnic and go off for a walk somewhere nice, or maybe take the kids to the beach when the weather picks up again.
Share (money saving tips)
I use mysupermarket.com before I do grocery shopping. There are a few branded things that me and the kids won't compromise on, so I put the list in every week and check which of the big supermarkets will give me the best deal on that stuff.
Treat (yourself) – I would like everyone to budget £3 for a luxury item.
It's been ages since I actually read a book so I might do that. I can probably get one for £3 - think Mr A have a £1 selection.
Thanks EE, for setting this up. August is the month that I get my life and myself back. I'm determined to do it.Not giving up
