Ahh everything sounds so fab! Brilliant news about your parents getting you the trainers. That's really lovely of them.... They probably know how much you've been missing it. So happy!

Chuffed with your bonus!! What a fab time to get one as well :) Its so close to your moving in with OH/ Christmas! I'm sure it will be really, really lovely when you get in. I miss just living with my OH. Having a space that was just ours and no one else to be accountable to was really nice! Obv. very happy with his parents letting us stay for cheap, but I do miss my freedom!

Please send me some de-cluttering mojo! I'm usually quite tidy but I just have so much useless stuff. I think I have hoarder tendencies tbh .... :rotfl:

    Hello,

Just wanted to pop in and say don't beat yourself up on the increase in debt. None of it was frivolous and unnecessary and it was early in to your journey before you'd have had real savings behind you. Look at the difference it's already made for you foot/leg. Also it wasn't a payday loan! So keep going you're doing great.

I'm loving your decluttering! So much better when you're not doing it up against the clock. Doing it in your own time when you have the time to think about it. I also have another thing to add to it I like - seasonal wardrobe. Put away your summer wardrobe and just have the autumn winter stuff out. It makes it so much nicer and easier to look through your things.

I'm also loving how quickly you are dealing with the pay day loans - killing them with survey proceeds. Have you considered complaining about being leant the money? On the main debt free wannabe page there's a thread about complaining and getting the interest back. You could see if you're eligible and other people's experiences.

On renting the bigger house I would keep in mind that it's him that needs a 3 bed, not you so it wouldn't be fair in the circumstances that you pay half. Just a thought.

    Keep going. You're winning x

Yes it's the freedom I'm looking forward to! You're more than welcome to my de-cluttering mojo :rotfl:

    Hi Kitten :hello: thank you!

I have done a few small reclaims in the past which has helped me have less debt than I do now, I think I've done all the ones that I can :)

Yeah we've worked out an agreement we're both happy with based on our income etc so I feel happy with the share I will be paying - we'll probably save money too as I will be the one doing the food shopping (more than likely) and OH is prone to stopping in the supermarkets for milk and bread and spending £20 :rotfl:

I have just signed up to YNAB - just been clicking around and reading the guides and stuff at the moment, I supposed it will make more sense when I have wages to input and budget from on the 1st November!

update: I have now worked out, how it works and am confident I will be able to use it going forwards :rotfl:

Check out Nick True on YouTube - he does a great YNAB 101 video. There is also a series of videos done by YNAB tutors. It took me a while to get my head around the whole 'budget what you have' rather than planning out a whole month but the penny dropped after I watched the videos.

There's also a UK based FB group that is really helpful. The main FB help page is good too but is heavily US biased (for obvious reasons...).

Thanks Lucifa I will take a look this evening. I think my whole problem too was trying to plan out a whole month, I struggled a little with getting the hang of transactions from budgeted amounts, but I'm there now. I also sussed how I can have a running debt total and mark the payments off it each month from a debt payments category so I can see my running total on YNAB too which is cool :)

I filled it in roughly with what I have spent this month to self-teach a bit, so I am looking forward to sitting down on Wednesday when I get paid and sorting out November :)
  • Happy Monday guys :D

Three packed boxes are now in the loft ready for moving day, and all my clothes bar my work uniform and some jeans and tops are in a suitcase in the loft too, I should only need maybe another 4 boxes to pack everything up. A lot of the stuff I have out still is all my toiletries and things I will use in the next few weeks. The biggest challenge is going to be clearing out under my bed, as there's no room to move it. I'll have to (I think) tip the mattresses on their side and remove some of the slats and do it through the top :rotfl: I'm not suggesting I shove things under my bed but with the little floor space I have it's easy for small things to get kicked under.

I finally went to see our house on Saturday and it's very nice, I can definitely see myself at home there. Good thing too that we viewed again as OH had been planning on buying wardrobes but they are built in, so that's money saved, but it does need a washing machine. The upside there is that we will have one to take when we (at some point in the distant future) buy somewhere.

Not a fan of waking up and seeing that it is zero degrees outside, I'm a warm weather person, I only like snow etc when I can see it from inside my warm house :rotfl:

Payday is the day after tomorrow, I will get a few presents with my extra money this month, book a dentist appointment and set up a mail redirect, and see how much is left over. I have been planning online what we are likely to need for our weekly shops and it's safe to say it will come in at much less weekly if I do the shopping that OH spends now with one less mouth to feed (mine)

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week :j
  • One day to payday!

OH is coming round to my house tonight to watch his football team play as we have the sports channels, it will be the 3rd or 4th day in a row I have seen him which is rare (and nice).

I have just completed a £2 survey on Populus Live, I need to get another £4 then I will receive a nice £50 cheque from them in the post :D

My foot (as I suspected) reacted to the new strengthening exercises so I am waiting to hear back about what I should be doing in place of them until my next appointment which isn't until the 8th. It's very disappointing as my foot not reacting was the condition that meant I could try running in the next couple of weeks, but I guess I'd rather it take the extra time and be properly healed. I just want to be able to do Christmas Day parkrun :rotfl: I'd also like to get back running sooner rather than later so that I have something to keep me busy in the evenings when OH is working - he did say to me last night I need to let him know if I go for a run after we've moved, as if anything happens no one else will know now that I don't live with 3/4 other people - I hadn't thought of that :rotfl:

I've been slowly feeling more and more run down since the weather changed, feeling a bit sicky and achy today and my lips are really dried out and chapped but that's more to do with sitting with two heaters on constantly as it's freezing!
  • Well, my wages are going to be less next month which is great...

I have to leave work today to go to the hospital. I passed a fair amount of blood this morning when going to the toilet (sorry for TMI) so made an emergency doctors appointment as recommended on the NHS website, and the doctors have referred me to the surgical assessment team at the hospital to go and have everything checked today because if it happened again I would need to go to A & E anyway. My boss kindly said that he would have appreciated a bit more notice to cover me (!!) and that he may not be able to, so just waiting to find out which it is going to be (cover or no one working) and then I am off to the hospital. I'll be taking a bus as it's cheaper than paying for parking all day. The doctors said to ask for the rest of the day off as it's impossible to say how long I will be there or what the results will be.

I'm sure everything will work out to be okay but I'm feeling a bit upset at my boss's reaction and going to the hospital by myself
  • Hope everything is okay for you.

Bosses!!! as if you'd choose to need to spend the day at hospital, they really annoy me at times
