Well the cupboard of doom has been decluttered. That, and a shelf, has provided me with two black sacks of rubbish and four bags for the charity shop  as a reminder, it is behind a full length door but the bottom half is blocked off so its not exactly roomy :rotfl: I think all of my clothes would fit in now, as opposed to folded in drawers :rotfl: ah well
I also spent my evening crushing cans as we appear to have so many this week, and tidying up the kitchen after the family I live with who have gone away for a few days. I've also been touching up the paint I missed when I decorated this room, and the bits where the previous paint job (bright pink) by the former occupant went onto the ceiling and my decorating did not. I've done all the bits I can by standing on my bed but I will need a chair or stool to be able to reach the rest, so I've tabled that for another day.
I am, quite frankly, tired right now so having a glass of wine and catching up on today's episode of The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair on Now TV - it's quite good, just trying to see it through to the end to find out what happened!0 -
Hi have just read through your diary and subscribed to follow your progress.
Well done on the debt busting so far, I find making the little payments works too keeps you focused. With my credit card I check my current account every morning and every pence over a whole pound I send over to my credit card its only tiny but keeps the momentum going.
Keep going you are doing greatDebts to deal with Cap 1 £3996.83 £3923.43 (0%), Next £1252.21 £1211.85 (0%) Very £294.88 £282.64, Studio £266.11 £256.11 (0%), Halifax card £277.17 £466.01:mad:0 -
Thanks doodles!
My plan going forwards is to do some little and often payments but pay any other extra money I get into another account through the month to pay a bigger payment off at the end, I shall see if that works for me too
Good luck with your debt busting x0 -
Well I got some awesome news today - my boss called me and said he would be stopping by next week (I work alone) and told me he just wanted to let me know they've been very impressed with my work and I will be receiving a £250 bonus this month!
I have never had a bonus in my life. I doubt it will actually be a whole £250 extra if it's going in with my wages (tax etc) but it's still amazing! It is earmarked for Christmas gifts as I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to manage this year, and take the strain off my disposable income over the next few months and free up that money for debt payments where possible

Thanks beanie
Physio thing went well yesterday I have some new exercises to practice with my foot and if my foot does not react I can try running in two weeks. I'm not optimistic about it if i'm honest, we are trying weight bearing on my toes which is when it's been most painful in the past, but I'm trying to think positive and see how it goes
Got my new trainers last night, he said I need to walk round them in the house to get my feet used to them for when I do start running. I did end up having an hour appointment rather than the 45 minutes we had booked but I had enough set aside to cover that, so I didn't mind too much.0 -
Also - OH and I have a moving date for mid November, so I'm glad I started my decluttering already as I am now pretty much in a position where I can start to slowly pack and not have to sift through what I own to do so. I'm quietly confident I could fit 75% of my clothing into a large suitcase I own too0

Woo! I love a good de-clutter.
Planning on doing one before Christmas to get rid of the old clothes I haven't worn in ages!
Are you looking forward to moving in with OH?? Exciting times!!0 -
I am very much so, at the moment I live with people I used to work with and it is very much a live at home with family experience, pay low rent and do chores and stuff like that, which has been helpful and nice to live in a family-like environment but I do like my independence and would like to take more control in day to day things, plus OH currently lives a 40 minute drive from me.
It sounds odd but I'm looking forward to doing the food shopping, looking after the house, cooking dinners (I love cooking but don't get to do much) etc as I'll feel more like I'm where I should be at nearly 27 I guess! I like my time to myself too so it'll be nice to have some peace and quiet when OH is at work some evenings
I have found decluttering much easier than I thought I would, I look at most things and think that I can't picture having somewhere to put them in the new house, so out they go!0
