When I ordered a year ago from Crown, they couldnt take a debit or credit card......wanted me to send a cheque. If they take payment with order, online or on the phone, this penalty and cancellation becomes a non-issue, the confusion disappears, and its all sweetness and light in the garden.

Exactly, which is why they can;t complain when people don't send the payment after placing an order. Just to save a few bucks card processing fees.

Am I being thick (probably) but I cant find any mention of a £50 fee for cancelling in their T's & C's.

If they take debit cards, they cost less to process than cheques. And Im sure they would be able to add 1.5% for credit card fees if anyone wants to do that.

Well that is just plain freaky.

They have removed those clause I quoted on the last page. I guess dealman is in luck. Even the forward contract cancel fee has gone now.

Well done, good job we all don't listen to Mr Evans in cases like this. You still didn;t say if you bought a forward contract or not though.

Are you referring to their 3-14 days rate as a forward contract or an immediate sale......I may be blind but I cant see anything less than that.

No idea, they don't define it or tell you so god knows.

When you order you choose a delivery date, if you accept there minimum date then its immediate.
