    Hey Everyone

I'm looking at opening a flex account to go to Vegas with in December, however I notice that when signing up you have to agree that this is your main account and salary will be paid in here monthly. I'm reluctant to do this and I notice Martin says that the 'financially savvy' can get around this by just preloading the account before they travel.

Can anyone provide any help how I would go about doing this, if it is possible of course.

    Thanks

Nationwide have recently changed their approach as they don't think it is right that people just open a flexaccount so they can save money when on holiday. The cost of managing the account is not cheap and if it is not being used as the main bank account they have now started to close down accounts that are not used regularly.
  • I am a UK resident and recently inherited a house etc. in Canada. I intend to travel frequently between UK and Canada. What would be the best way to take money back to the UK - (1) by transfer from my Canadian Bank (RBC) to my UK Bank (HBOS), (2) in Canadian Dollars to exchange in UK, or (3) buy sterling GBP in Canada before leaving? The same questions will arise in reverse when leaving the UK for Canada. Is it best to exchange smaller amounts of currency in either country, before departure or on arrival? Not being a particularly seasoned traveller, I don't know when is best to exchange currency and I would welcome any guidance. Sincere thanks!

I never even seen that i would have to pay £50 to cancel , i only did it cause i got a better rate else where.

I told her im not paying it and she said she is going to give it to debt collection agents!!!!!

Can she do this? i know one thing ill never order from them in the future.

Have you checked in their T&C's, which i assume you must have agreed to when you entered into the contract? If its not, you are not liable. If it is you are

unfortunately its in their terms and business which you have to tick to say you have read before the order is placed.

i did a similar thing with crown currency (i had cold feet ) - asked whether i could cancel they said yes but its a £50 fee.

i again checked their terms and its there in black and white.

also the distance selling regs do not apply in these transactions hence they are in their right to recover the £50 off them.

if i was you i would simply go through with the transaction

I placed an order with them a few weeks back and an order with crown too (Are they both the same?), but then placed an order with TEG a little later at a better rate. So just ignored the tms and crown orders.

They called me but I just said I didn't need it anymore. She said ok no problem. No mention of a fee. At that point I had only placed the order, had not transfer any money or sent them ID etc.

Did you phone the order or place it online?

Theres no way on earth I would pay them a £50 fee though despite what was said on there T & C's.
