LONDON, April 28 (Reuters) - British retail sales unexpectedly jumped at their sharpest rate in more than a year in April but the figures may have been distorted by the timing of Easter, a survey showed on Tuesday.

The Confederation of British Industry's distributive trades survey balance rose to +3 in April from -44 in March. That was the first positive reading since March 2008 and the highest since January 2008.

It was also much higher than analysts' forecasts of -40 and the biggest one-month jump in the index on record. But the survey may been been affected by Easter -- a massive shopping weekend -- falling in April this year, not March.

"The good turnout by shoppers over this year's later Easter may well have influenced the April retail figures, and while they mark a respite, they should not be taken as an indication of a high street revival," Andy Clarke, chairman of the CBI distributive survey panel and chief operating officer of Asda.

Retailers predicted sales falling again in May, with the expectations balance at -15. Still, that was the highest expectations balance since July 2008.

they have to play real madrid (2nd), Sevilla (3rd), Valencia (4th) and villareal (5th)
PLUS Chelsea twice, all in the next 3 weeks

they are going to be [EMAIL="kn@ckered"]kn@ckered[/EMAIL] by the time they play chelsea in the 2nd leg, so they are going to want to get a big lead in the first leg

I watched the highlights of the Valencia game at the weekend and have to say Barca are a class act. Inniesta is one of the most complete midfielders out there just now.

barcelona have scored in every game, in all competitions this season, except the 1st game when they lost 1-0 (to sevilla i think)
