15:46 27Apr09 Gbp higher on more stop led trade
14:45 GMT - Another thrust higher in [CABLE] all said generated by a search for
stops above 1.4630 with more triggers also seen just below now in Eur/Gbp,
through 0.8960-65. Notably there is also a decent bid for Aud and Nzd
with the whole derived from US stock markets which have returned to
positive territory. The next important level in Cable seen 1.4675-85 with
system funds to respect the 20 day m.a at 1.4683.Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

16:31 27Apr09 IFR-GBP/USD: Options, Plane Out of the Way, Cable at Decision Point
[15:30 GBP/USD: Options, Plane Out of the Way, Cable at Decision Point] Boston,
April 27th.
Cable has taken off from the much discussed 1.4600 level. A big NY
cut option expiry struck at that level was all the talk in trading this morning.
That may or may not have helped cable find its way back there as the US market
headed for the NYSE open. Stocks were already improving to that point, which
certainly took some of the bid out of the USD. Confirmation that the plane flying
around NYC was there in an official capacity gave the bulls a boost.
Unlike what we have been seeing of late when stocks have been improving,
sterling is the clear winner at this point. Along with cable"s sharp rally,
EUR/GBP has been moving steadily lower and GBP/JPY has lifted back toward the
day"s highs as well. We would expect the latter, given the JPY connection with
the risk aversion trade, but for the Euro cross to be falling like it"s doing is
very interesting in light of recent action.
Swine Flu will continue to be the talk of the day, but it doesn"t seem
likely to be a major market mover. There certainly is nothing else going on now
that the option cut is passed and the BoE and Fed have done their QE buying. The
linkage between cable and stocks tells us this will again be a USD dominated
afternoon"s trading, and what equities do will carry considerable weight.
With that in mind, note that the S&P 500 has resistance from Friday"s highs
near 870 nearby. With cable also near the Asian session highs. This suggests the
market is at or very near a decision point for the day. A failure here probably
puts cable at risk of re-testing the day"s lows. Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
