[13:33 GBP/USD: Extends North to Threaten 1.4745, Yesterday"s High] London, April
24. Cable has extended north to an intra-day high four pips shy of 1.4745

"UK isn"t behaving very triple-A" is the headline of an article on the breakingviews.com section of the Telegraph website. The article is captioned:
"The UK just doesn"t feel triple-A. The sovereign debt remains top-rated, and the major rating agencies aren"t formally considering a downgrade. But the government is not behaving the way a top-rate debtor should".

14:55 24Apr09 GBP/USD: Talk of Further GBP Buying from a Major UK Corporate
[13:55 GBP/USD: Talk of Further GBP Buying from a Major UK Corporate] London,
April 24.
There is talk that cable"s most recent up-leg to a four-day high of
1.4767 was aided by fresh GBP buying from a major UK corporate. The same name was
also a touted buyer of the pound on Tuesday and Wednesday (pre-UK budget). The
aforementioned flow came after aggressive buying of the pound by a Middle Eastern
monetary authority and a German bank. The talk is that the ME name hit the German
name, who then hit the market.
1.4767 approximates to the 10-day moving average. 1.4815 (Monday"s early
Asian session high) is a resistance level above. 1.5069 was last week"s 3-month
high (Apr 16, pre-Chinese Q1 GDP data). Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
