[12:52 GBP/USD: A Swift 30-Min Decline From 1.4150] London, March 2. Sterlingcontinues to suffer at the hands of domestic bank issues with EUR/GBP holding session highs towards 0.8955 and Cable sinking quickly from 1.4150 to 1.4033-35.

Us input is being blamed on the latest sell-off in GBP/USD with 1.4120-30
selling eventually finding London stops under 1.4100 and 1.4080. There is also, to a large degree, a shift into the Dollar on so called safety plays, which has compounded Sterling"s problems.

Cable"s downside risk has been amplified by rate cut expectations ahead of this week"s MPC decision and global equity weakness completes a fairly dismal session for the Pound.

[GBP/USD] has found some bids below 1.4050 and there is a squeeze on as price climbs back to 1.4080. However, Cable will have to break above levels around 1.4365 to really worry the bears. We look for fresh offers to hold the line at 1.4100 and for the 1.4033 low to be bettered before we head home.
