Did look at Thomas exchange global and they do offer the better rate but charge for delivery so on the amount we’re changing the free delivery works out better losing 1c on the rate at both currency express and interchangefx. Well at the moment anyway depending on what happens as the market rate seems to be hovering around 1.42 this morning so far just hoping it pushes up a few cents in the next day or two which would be helpful!
I think I could do with some of IM’s positive thinking and insider knowledge on what’s happening this week!0 -
Mr fish is expecting a good month, but how quickly that will start i'm not sure, its down a lot already today. maybe the drop in interest rates again this week will make a difference.0

I’m flying out this Saturday I’ve been leaving changing money as late as possible to try and get a better rate but look like I’ll be lucky to get anything over $1.4 with how things are going! Just trying to work out do I change now or try and hang on for a day or two and see how late I dare leave it to make sure I get the money in time?
Any ideas how late you can leave ordering money to get it posted or collect at the airport (flying from Manchester if it makes any difference)?
How much are you looking at getting? a 2c swing is only $20 per £1000 so You aren't going to save or lose much unless something really strange happens in the next couple of days.0 -
It looks like it is all about risk aversion. Any time there is bad news in the USA the Dollar rises. It is perceived as a safe currency in times of trouble. Crazy eh!
LONDON, March 2 (Reuters) - The dollar extended gains to hit a fresh 3-year high against a basket of currencies on Monday as another U.S. bailout for American International Group sparked a flight into perceived safer assets.
The troubled insurer also reported a record fourth quarter loss of $61.7 billion, extending hefty stock market losses.
The dollar index .DXY hit a high of 88.956, its highest since April 2006 as European stock markets fell 4 percent .FTEU3. The U.S. currency's gains also took the pound to its lowest in just over a month at $1.4036 <GBP=>.
"There's no good news out there and that is leaving the euro and sterling looking really heavy right now. Stock markets are working in the dollar's favour," a London-based trader said.0 -
