  • maybe so.....the gamble :)

unfortuantly you don't know that......(caveat - in your opinion!)

Only bought 900$ just to tie me over :D
  • this is soooo over done
its a knee jerk reaction - traders see it as chance to make money as there is no other news around at the moment

    currently trading 1.4355
this has to bounce back later, surely...

your right matey, all the words spoken by king this morning arent really new,so why the downward trend in the pound, maybe like you say people taking profits etc?

Was hoping for some advice, I'm travelling to the US in a few months and bought about £1000 worth of dollars for travel back when the rate was much better. I'm a bit worried now about carrying all this cash on my person when I go, is there any way I can put it on a card to spend whilst I'm there or convert it into travellers cheques?

    Thanks
  • Has anybody bought their dollars actually in the US? I have a stopover in Newark and they have a Travelex Bureau there. I emailed them and they have said all I need to show is my passport.. I have looked on the Travelex site today and they are currently exchanging USD to GBP at 1.57...

Pro's and Con's of this? Ideally I would like to change up £500 before we go so we have some dollars to hand, then change up £1000 in the US.

I originally secured $1.56 but as I had sunk £1600 into them and with some many well known businesses folding, I got the jitters and withdrew my order!
  • I'm going to LA in June. Is it worth buying now or waiting until nearer the time?

Someone said to do half-half... not sure what to do!! Argh!

personally i go to florida in late april and think it will get better BUT thats my oppinion and to be honest i read what experts say but dont go off it as theyre seriously not sure.
if i was you i'd go with what you know your gonna be happy with.
me personally ive worked out i can afford to go on 1.41 and although i could of got 1.55-1.56 the other week i think i'll wait as in my oppinion the pound is being picked on and undervalued and i think it will come good to 1.55-1.60.
still confused so am i but one ive learned up to now is asking on these forums is like asking some to look into their crystal ball!
    hope you get sorted!;)
