I find this very surprising bearing in mind the sagacity of many comments Hucker has made in this thread.0 -
No, I want them to charge the correct amount for labour to pay the mechanics and all their other costs. Adding money to something they've bought is absurd, all they did was pick up the phone. I was once charged £160 for a part which Eurocarparts sells for £50. That is a criminal level of markup.
You mean like every other shop, restaurant, fast food joint or anywhere else that sell anything to anyone?0 -

As I've said countless times, if the person giving me a lift insists on me wearing a seatbelt, I will do so. Anyone outside of the vehicle I'm in has no business telling me to wear a seatbelt, as they cannot be harmed by it.0

You're probably the kind of person that comes in to a cafe with your own food and drink, buying nothing and then uses the toilet, stuffs it full of toilet paper blocking the toilet and then describes it as someone else's problem.
Why would I want to pay for a rip off brand when I can buy a cheap one? I've never known a part fail prematurely. You drive a Merc, so you have no concept of value for money.0 -

Oh hold on you claim to have a car, do you think they sell them at cost price?
As I've said before, there's a difference between a shop which has the sole business of reselling a product, and a garage, whose business is to repair the car. Both should charge for what they do, not sneak money onto other things. I would stop shopping in Asda if they started trying to make money from parking fees.0 -

A garage doesn't sell me parts, they fit them, that's their job.0 -

It may well have been covered already but if you injure yourself by being stupid it will still be the responsibility of Police and NHS to scoop you up and take care of you. It's not pleasant for them and takes up a chunk of resources that could be used elsewhere.0 -

No, I certainly don't have OCD - although I have reported your post as it's completely unacceptable to throw mental issues around as insults. Not to me, but to those who do suffer from it and have a right for you to NOT belittle it in that way.
As for the MOt and repairs:
As a testing station they MUST carry out an MOT if you ask them to - its a requirement of being a test station.
They do NOT have to carry out any other work on your car (MOT related or otherwise) if they don't want to.
So, since one part is compulsory to them and the other is optional, they're simply not the same job - they can't be. If you don't like that then it makes not one bit of difference, it's just how it is.0
