I've not got round to listing any of MILs stuff for sale yet. Feel like I've not stopped recently between working, business, housework etc.
I've just had my first payslip since increasing my hours & it's substantially more than I budgeted. Between this and a mini rush the business has had on father's Day items, we shouldn't need to touch the savings again this month.
I had provisionally signed up for some upcoming election work. The money seems good until I calculated it's a 16 hour day with no breaks and works out at less than my usual hourly pay. There's overtime available in my proper job, and I'm ridiculously busy, so I think I'll stick to that instead. If I work a weekend I can claim enhancements too.

Just as well you crunched the numbers. I think the elections offer good money for a teen but not really later unless you have a lot of stamina and/or do the night one which sometimes finishes early.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Confession time...we've blown the budget on a puppy! He's the cutest, fluffiest little thing, but cost a small fortune. A neighbour has kindly offered us a free crate in exchange for one of our personalised business items, and the DCs have agreed to sell their scooters (that haven't been used in nearly a year) and a games console (they play games on their laptops now instead) so they might cover 1/3 of the cost. But we need to build the savings back up as a priority. We've got a fair amount in Help to Save accounts in case of absolute emergency, but I try to forget about these so we can maximise the bonus. I think I'll be busy listing on Fbook and eBay for the rest of the week.5

I think I've found the true meaning of 'tired'. Work has been ridiculously busy. I've worked the last 2 weekends - only about 3 hours a day, but it's meant I've not had a full day off for 3 weeks. Add on top a new puppy crying at night. Then on Wednesday, I had to help get an elderly uncle to hospital, and his wife (with dementia) into a care home. I phoned DH to let him know I was on my way home, to be told that DC3 had an accident in the garden. A slab had fallen onto his foot. So it was straight back in the car to take him to hospital. Thankfully his foot isn't broken! So I'm both mentally and physically drained.
I took Flexi leave yesterday and have vowed not to log into work this weekend. I spent most of yesterday pottering in the garden. It looks so much tidier just for sweeping the patio, pulling some weeds, and rearranging some plant pots. We need to top up the slate, as it's compressed since being laid, and buy some compost for the plant pots, but should be able to get it looking lovely for minimal spend. I've sold DC3s baby slide & swing seat (pending collection) for £5 each.
I think I've finally cracked getting the pup to settle at night. We'd tried putting him in DDs room so he wasn't alone but that wasn't really working (I think she was secretly getting him up and giving cuddles everyone he made a sound). So he went back into the dining room last night, with his cage covered, and Alex@ playing a heartbeat. He slept until DH got up at 6.30.
I need to do the weekly shop today then DH & I want to get out of the house for our daily exercise. It won't be far today since we can't take pup yet & DC3 is still limping. I'm hoping to get a few loads of washing done & line dried, then have a general tidy up around the house and get some more items listed for sale.
Business has been quiet, but that's probably because I've not put much effort into advertising it recently. I'll have to put a bit of effort into social media this weekend.4 -
