Hi there - back on with a coffee having had a small glass of sherry to toast MIL while she was being laid to rest.

OLLIE - my DH won't make any waves about the arrangements being made in such a hurry that he wasn't able to make it. He's not the type to have a go at anyone. I've told him that, if he was meant to be there, he would have been. I'm sure he's being 'saved' to help FIL when all the immediate fuss (for want of a better word) has died down. DH has got a wonderful sense of humour and brings out the best in everyone (not always me, though!) and will be an emormous moral-lifter.

SCUZZ - well done -you're very brave.!

PENPIN - I do hope you feel a bit better soon - living with pain must be awful. DH has a cousin who was accidentally shot in the spine when he was in the army - it has left him paralysed but, as only half his spinal cord was severed, he feels terrible pain in all sorts of unrelated places. He says no-one who hasn't gone through it can truly understand what it's like to live with. It really grinds him down. We just wish there was something positive we could do. He puts on a brave face but, sometimes, he is ashen with the pain. I really hope you can find some relief from it.

JACKIEO - great to hear from you and I'm glad you're feeling up to knitting and so on. All the best.

PINK-WINGED - I hope you feel better soon and that the cough leaves you alone, soon. My cough really took it out of me - I get the odd bout of it now and again but I can cope with it and it doesn't keep me awake any more so I'm sure yours will go soon. DS will love Marbella - we've been there twice and really enjoyed ourselves. I hope she gets to visit Puerta Banus - just up the road; it's where all the truly stinking rich park their massive luxury yachts. Some of them even have butlers - we watched one once set up a dining table on the upper deck with all the best silver - fascinating. We must have looked like ragamuffins with our noses pressed up against the window of a sweetshop! As I said to DH 'Now, that's what I want!' How the other half live, eh! Certainly not OS and I bet they've never heard of MSE!

HARDUP HESTER - How on earth have you put up with that lodger? You must truly be a saint -I can't believe that she doesn't realise how she is disturbing the household. If that was me - I'd have put her in the garden shed!

Well, off to do some ironing - yes, I really am! There's not too much and I am determined to keep it down from now on.

See you all later and have a great day.

    Morning all!

Just back from the dentist - they kindly fitted me in and it was painless :j I had to pay £39, but we still have HSA so should get some back.

Found 5p on the road which will go into my coin bank: I started writing down my finds - 79p in September, 2p in October - so I don't think I will get rich!

Have not read all the thread yet, but incredibly impressed by Scuzz's firewalk :T I was fascinated by the soft feet afterwards

Jackie O enjoy the bus ride, I hope you find ideas for presents

Pen Pin hope the essay goes well, your determination is inspirational = I am ignoring mine :o so need to get my act together

Mioliere thinking of you and DH, FiL will need the time with him so it does seem 'meant'.

Pooky had a similar problem with OM's shirts but a change of washing powder helped - no particular one, just whatever was on offer at the time. Took a couple of washes though. I also started using the own brand oxy stuff on the pale things once a week about the same time. HTH

Right, my mouth is no longer numb so I can have a coffee
then time to E-bay my stuff - maybe I can get the rest of the £39 back!

    Have a great OS day!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Well after vowing to go out yesterday to avoid the trick or treaters. I submitted got some sweets and stayed in. We had quite a few knocking including 2 lads in masks (that was the entire costume) i couldn’t resist and said “how old are you?” they said 12 ~they were 16 if they were a day. But i chickened out and rather than not give and risk the aftermath, i gave in. Didn’t actually get as many as last year, so OH was happily muching away on the leftovers, till i told him off for putting the empty wrappers back in the bag! I hate that! :p
(i have almost finished my christmas shopping, not bad seeing as i havent left the house ,

Right im off to put BM on.and attempt to hoover (will have to see how the back manages it though:rolleyes: )

OK I admit it. I'm rubbish! But I'm back now and determined to stay :rotfl:

OH and I have split, and I'm in the process of moving into my own place - I pick up the keys on 9th Nov but have the lease on our current flat until 30th so will move slowly and in an organised manner... She says :rotfl: I'm not sad about it yet - it's a positive thing for both of us as we've been together since we were 18 and have grown up sooo much and don't really know who we are as individuals.

It's a teeeeeny place - just a kitchen/lounge, smallish double bedroom and a bathroom but it'll do for me and it's only £350 a month and all I have to pay is my phone/internet & electricity (which is on a coin meter so will be able to budget it well). However it is so small that I have no excuse for not being OS! Think I'll need Nelski & Co to help me find some... :rotfl:

HUGE HUGS to all who are not sleeping, not well and not happy :grouphug:

    Take care xxx

    Annie

I've not seen one advertised for ages so I presume that the council arent bothering any more.

Were having a quiet day here, DD has calmed down thank god. Currently watching a Cinderella in preparation for our trip to Disneyland Paris in 5 weeks. I seem to have got the right combination of pain killers so the pains not bad but there making me rather dozy so I won't be attempting the ironing
