  • Morning all
    Well done Frogga
SnowyOwl, please post regularly, all my posts are pointless drivel & it doesn't stop me.
We had no trick or treaters call last night, still the lodger ate the chocolate, so it wasn't wasted.
I went to bed at 8 last night, not to sleep, I sat & knitted, but I just had to get away from the noise. The lodger was using my pc to play music & her laptop to work on & talking on the landline & her mobile all at the same time!!
I shall have words again this morning, unfortunately she has the memory span of a gnat & needs reminding of the house rules regularly. And now she's calling for me, she's forgotten how to twist the shower head & the water is coming out too hard for her.
Right thats that sorted though I'm now soaking wet as she turned the shower on while I was still holding it.
I can see today is going to be a great day, hope everyone has a good one.
    Hugs Hester

PenPen Isn't it taking the friendship a bit far having a picture of Mouse on your head. :D I must cross Yorkshire of my *to visit* places.

Pink Where are you?? I hope you've gotten over your wog (this means illness for those who need a translation ) :D If not, get well soon. xxxx

Aussie you can't say that      I'll PM you the English translation.

Looks like Yorkshire is getting a lucky escape :p:D

Snowy - lovely to see you posting

    Pink - hugs :grouphug:

Frogga - well done

Scuzz - I'd just keep it casual for the time being, and see how it goes. Good luck!

I have pumpkin pics - will load them later.

I thought today was going to be a day off, but we have an advising crisis - due to illness no-one to cover the outreach advice session. It's a 2 min bike ride from me, so I[strike] was [/strike]*volunteered* ;) Just 2 hours in the afternoon, and I'll then be able to write up from home. That way I can do it with the radio on, and will get the time off later :T

Going to do a mega bake this morning (mini chocolate puds, cake, pasties, bread, rolls). We're having friends for a bonfire party on Saturday, so I want to do hotdogs (HM rolls and butcher's sausages) and HM baked beans.

I haven't doen much exercise since I injured my back, so will be doing a light run later.

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Morning

Hope everyone is Ok today, first of November, where did that year go ?

Just watching Heather Mills from yesterday, interesting that there isn't a single tear despite the crying act

Very quiet Halloween last night, must have been the big skeleton OH put on the front door  Whatever will I do with all the chocolate and sweets I've got left ;)

Listing on Ebay day, taking advantage of the half price listing. However, has anyone seen the 'offer' they are doing - on toys they have cut the listing fee, but have put the final fee up to 8%

    Catch up again later x

Morning Chums and well done Scuzz and frogga.
    <<hugs>> Mioliere, my condolences.

Well 1st November, and still not yet putting on the CH on a regular basis, it makes the winter a bit shorter I find, and a little less expensive as well.:j

Only just over 7 weeks till Christmas and only about a third of my presents bought.I have five family birthdays before then so I get into a bit of a 'present overload' by Christmas.

Went to my DDs last night for dinner to avoid the little toe-rags who 'trick or treat' ( vandalise your car/house if you don't answer the door and your light is on ), and took along my home-made lasagne which went down very well between the two of us as we are the only ones in her family who enjoy pasta.

She took me to B&Q's just before 9.00.p.m. and I managed to buy some really nice tubs for my bulbs in the garden for only £3.00 each.very pleased with them.
This morning I shall be going to buy some posh biscuits and a crafting magazine for one of the ladies in my craft class who has had a knee op and is in hospital. I shall pop up to see her this afternoon bearing a card that I will make this morning as well.

Tommorow hopefully, I am going to get the bus to Bluewater for a little wander around to see if I can get inspiration for some Christmas presents.Because I am unable to drive at the moment I have discovered my local buses, and it's about an hours journey from where I live to Bluewater so it will make a nice trip out. I have a pensioners pass so it won't cost me anything. :D

I have managed to start to knit again a little bit, and I am so chuffed with myself as I hadn't done any for 11 weeks owing to my op. daft what cheers one up isn't it.
I am sleeping a little better as well, about 6 hours without waking up once which is better than on the hour every hour:j

I think I might go and put a rice pudding on in the slow cooker this morning If I leave it on all day it will be lovely by the time I get back from the hospital and if I make it with the special protein milk that I have to drink three times a day it will take care of my protein intake for today and tommorow. Two birds with one stone .
I get this stuff on prescription as it is supposed to build new cells up, and the flavoured stuff is o.k. but the 'natural' flavour is a bit like drinking sterilised milk and a bit sweet.
You're supposed to be able to add it to soups and stews but its far too sweet for me, and it makes soups taste decidedly odd.
Still as long as it does me good, and makes me well thats the main thing.
Hope you all have a nice day and <<<hugs>>> to those in need and big :D 's to the rest of you. I really did miss you all when the site went down
    Take care everyone

    Morning All

Mioliere - Sorry your oh is missing the funeral but as you say he will be a great help to fil after.

Well done to Frogga for weightloss and Scuzz for firewalking!

Loads to do again today. House was quite respectable yesterday but now looks like a tip after everyone coming round. Enjoyed Halloween but feet still aching after walking round the whole village.

OH not good, think he has a kidney infection now so need to get him done the docs today. Also need to clean house and do some washing the washing basket cant take anymore. So today I really need to get my head into gear. This afternoon going to the golf range for a practise and then on for a golf lesson.

First thing this morning need to phone the bank as they have bounced 2 dd's for no reason - there was plenty of funds available. Then will need to phone the company the dd's were for.

    Best get on.
    Have a great day.

  • Morning Guys!

Hope your all ok as I havent read through the thread yet as my eyes arent too good this morning.

Have a hospital visit this morning and hopefully that will go alright. Really dont want to go out today but no choice really.

OH has stripped the beds and emptied the DW. Cleaners are due at about 8.45, so the house will get a good going over. WM will be going on in a bit and probably a couple of loads altogether.

Feeling a little depressed today, just under the weather I think though. Fed up with looking at the same 4 walls all day and being in constant pain. Its so frustrating and people try and relate to how you feel, but TBH if they havent gone through it, they really dont know! Gosh...I sound a right cow, but you know what I mean:confused: Have even started on my next course with the OU...yes I'm that bored! 1st Essay is due in 3 weeks, so should get a good head start.

Chickens are great but OH is having a struggle with cam as they sent him the wrong one so may be another week before they sort it out etc. I will try to post a couple of pics later today.

    Hugs to all.

    PP

    :hello: Good morning everybody

Sorry to see that you had difficulty sleeping, redruby!

Snowyowl - if posting drivel gets you through your day, then you go ahead and 'drivel', girl! That's what I do - whatever works for each of us eh, ;) .

Aussielass - 'too hot' - are you trying to make us all jealous back here?

Donny-gal - You get a Bank Holiday for All Saints Day? Where are you? Is this something that my employers are keeping secret from me? Good luck with the knee x-ray - as a knee sufferer I can sympathise with you on problems in that department. You know that ad where the woman slips in the water at work - well I feel that landing every time I see it !

Amie and dlb - glad you both enjoyed trick or treating - two lots of visitors here. Shame about your pumpkin Amie - there are always one or two who will take things a bit too far! We had a bit of nuisance going on where my older people were concerned. Had to chase three lots of kids away from bedroom windows.

Frogga - congratulations on the loss - great stuff hun. I knew that I should have joined you when you started. Just think I too could have been almost a whole stone lighter by now!

Mioliere - so sorry to hear about the funeral arrangements happening too quickly for your husband to be able to attend. Is that perhaps a part of Cypriot culture? I know that bereavements can often cause rifts and misunderstandings between different members of a family - I hope they can talk about their reasons/feelings about what has happened. (((( hugs)))) to you and your family.

scuzz - sorry to hear your conversation with him was 'chilled'. Maybe time to just step back and let him make the next move. Why can't men just 'talk the same language' as us women. Life would be so much easier all round if they were able to say what they mean!

Pink-winged - sorry to hear you're a bit under the weather - AND you've got to deal with kids and half-term as well. Hope the kids appreciate how you're feeling and don't give you too much grief. The week will pass quickly and, I'm sure your daughter will soon be back home with lurid tales of what 'the others' got up to!

HardupHester - you need to double that woman's rent! She is taking liberties, girl!!

I'm off to make another cup of coffee and get some veggies into my sc. I've had a ham shank cooking away all night on low - so now have that delectable job of lifting the darn thing out of the water while it slighters around on the spoons trying to escape! Looks like the makings of a good old-fashioned meal in the offing for tonight!

    Ollie

Wow - it took me so long to post that loads more of you have all jumped in while I was doing it. Haven't got time to read you all at the moment but hugs where needed.

Forgot that I've got to go for my flu jab at some point this morning!

morning all (again), well I went back to bed at 5.45 to be woken by OH getting up at 6.15  , oh well I am sure I will sleep well tonight.

Aussielass and Scuzz, Of course I knew it was still 2007 :D I was just testing the rest of you to see who spotted it, well done you two, top marks:T

Aussie, been on any bus journeys lately :D

Scuzz, you have two choices really with the 'bloke', you can either ask him outright if you are going to see each other again (this is what I would do ) or totally ignore the situation and wait to see if he comes to you, I would do the first, you can always text him, so you don't have to do it face to face ;)
    Keep us posted x

Nice to see Jackieo posting enjoy bluewater xx

Snowyowl, we love drivel you carry on x

Pen pin, sorry you are feeling down, hugs to you xx

Essex girl hugs to your OH

Well better crack on hugs to all xx
