    Thanks Donnie,
Using www.magicdvdripper.com the settings for YouTube are Avi or mp3
    There is some about "Modify"

As for editing the copied DVD into 10 minute segments which software do you suggest?

    Thanks,

    Heidy

I am trying to get past Hurdle Number 1 I ripped one chapter of the DVD
for 8 minutes duration the file size was 78 MB's huge

YouTube likes avi format and 320 x 240 resolution.

I have been in contact with the MagicDVDRippers support they give
scripted "Copy & Paste" replies :) Oh well

maybe there is better software out there or DVD's ripping and YouTube Uploading is NOT possible.

If you want to create a smaller file, download and install this XviD codec: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/xvid.cfm

Once installed, place your DVD in the Magic DVD Ripper. Go to Options - Profile Editor and then click on AVI and then Modify.

Change the Resolution if you wish(it's not really necessary) and change the AVI Codec from Internal MPEG4 Codec to XviD MPEG4 Codec and then click on Configure. Move the sliding scale down from Maximum Quality towards Smallest File.
    Done.

Go back to the main screen and make sure Output is set to AVI.

Stop fretting about YouTube specs, they will re-encode the file to their specifications anyway.

    Donnie,

The DVD file converted to 1 GB there are 15 chapters on this DVD
I guess I need to upload max of 10 mins per video segment on YouTube

I have installed the XVid and am now seeing how much this 1 GB DVD will reduce too incidentally about the Audio Bitrate I have that at 128kps is that Too High or too low for decent audio quality.

I have left the Subtitle box unticked as you will not be able read that on YouTube.

Next is the Editing into Uploadable clicks by the way YouTube seemed to take a 78 MB file 8 minutes duration I did as test I have to wait for YouTube to process that it took a long time to upload indeed:)

Expect a file size of around 250MB for a DVD Video at the lowest setting. The Audio Bitrate setting is fine.

Its taking over 1 hour and 30 minutes to convert is this a good or bad indication that the DVD file has been reduced to a manageable YouTube size or I just has to wait it out:)?

If I was to increase the Audio Bitrate to 192 kbp would it add a lot more to the file size because I have noticed on some YouTube Music Videos I stree NOT all where the sound was excellent.

    Hi
Well, there wasn't much point in converting it.

    And it's getting very complicated.

But if the ripped video is an mpg file of 1 hour 48 min and is 1GB in size, then why can't you just cut it into 11 pieces?

These would be just less than 10 minutes and 91MB each.

That's acceptable for youtube isn't it?

No matter how you try to recode it, you can only use a 10 minute section, max.
So let them worry about the resolution and the bitrate.

Yes I will just have to learn how to cut that 1.1GB File DvD into 15 section=to 15 DVD Chapters

Even MagicDVDRipper.com Support are NOT that familiar with YouTube.

    Thanks,

    Did you
Move the sliding scale down from Maximum Quality towards Smallest File

    bat999

The benefit is that she doesn't spend all week uploading it.

I did move the setting to smallest file possible.
I will try again I need to buy www.magicdvdripper.com
Their Support say its possible rip segments less than 10 minutes the person working in technical has a bad grasp of English.

Anyway I downloaded Avid Free however the software wanted a Registration Number I rang USA support they said to they this was no longer free or severely cut back they recommended some software for 2000 Usdollars sort of steep when I only want it for YouTube:)
any second sugestion was a Product called "Liquid" thats severely cut back too I need to be able to know if the software is User Friendly or idiot Proof so to speak.

    http://www.avid.com/forms/infoLiquidTrialSoft.asp?product=Avid%20Liquid&iTrackingID=LQTRLDVDPRMDWNLDBTNQ106

    What do guys think?

    Thanks,
