How much have you lowered your debt in the last year?

I am in more debt than I was this time last year but that is because I brought my ex out of my flat. I reckon since then I have paid off about 3.5k though, since January which really isnt too bad!
I am so pleased that I have lowered my OD limit to 2k from 2.5k and still have a 1k safety limit! I dont think I have had such a small OD since I got one at 18. This time next year I hope to be chipping away at my mortgage and trying to establish what I believe is a savings account! Not sure if you can actually put money into the bank, I always thought parents/grandparentsgave you these mysterous things then you blew the lot asap, I will have to do some research to make sure!
Well done everyone!!

Can't believe how well everyone has done:j
I have paid off about £5,000 since February, which is pretty amazing as before we were adding £500 to our debt every month!! so I would have owed another 4,500 by now:eek: We've done this by not buying anything we don't REALLY need, cutting down on food shopping, changing insurance etc.
Still a massive £14,800 to go, I know we'll struggle to get rid of a lot with Xmas coming, but will keep bashing away at it:T
Can't wait to be debt free & know any money after bills will be ours
We would never have been able to do this without the support & advice from people on this site.
it's great to get a pat on the back sometimes, especially when you can see how far you need to go, it really does help:pComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

I have paid off £3,700 since May this year.
Only way I have managed that is with CCCS and a DMP as now (almost) all interest has been stopped.
By December this year I should have paid off nearly £5000.Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated0 -
I've halved mine...
...but I've not found it easy and I think the last half is going to be harder than the first.
