How much have you lowered your debt in the last year?

I have been following the forums for some time now, it gave me the 'push' I needed and this year I have paid off over £3k on my CC, just £2500 to go, hopefully I can enter 2008 debt free, bar the mortgage

Since January 26th I have paid off £10490.88 (+ interest).
I have a few years left to go though as my mortgage is included in my debts. Hopefully gone before 22/08/2013 but at present that is when my last payment should be.

I've paid off £7,000 since January, before that the debt was increasing!
Biggest thing I did was to get a second job for a year, it was knackering but worth it and I would have a lot more debt now if I hadn't done it.

Since October last year I have paid off £10,220.04. I didn't realise it was that much until this post. I keep a track of the total debt in my diary but only for the current year, so thanks for making me look back.

I'm on track for being debt free by the end of May 2008.

I had my lightbulb moment in August last year. In September I started keeping a debt diary. According to that at the end of October / beginning of November 2006 we owed £16,196. Currently we owe £3,860 so paid off £12,336 since last year! Imagine though if we'd already been debt free and had managed to SAVE that amount!

Going onto maternity pay soon, but still hoping to be debt free in 2008!

Hi everyone, I only started my journey in august so haven't even dented mine, but I just can't beleive how well some of you have done! Its totally inspiring to read that people are repaying 9 or 10k in a year!

I am setting myself quite an ambitious new years resolution especially now i've been accepted by AQA, maybe I'll be able to do it and post a similar great post next year!

In the last year i must have paid off about 5k got another 8k to go till im debt free im hoping i will get it paid of by christmas 2008 so fingers crossed.

It does do you the world of good to see what you have achieved. As long as your debt is coming down each year, no matter how quickly or slowly then you know you are heading in the right direction. You have not only just paid off debt by what you already owe but potential debt that could have been there if you hadnt changed the way you think about and deal with money.

I am a totally different person i dont spend anywhere near as much used. i take time to think about what i am buying, is it worth it and how much it costs. I might spend less but i am happier for it - strangely

We have paid off about £4,000 since March of this year. This month's credit card payment will take our debt to under £3,000. :beer:
