How much have you lowered your debt in the last year?

Well I only joined here in March, and I have no idea how much debt I was in at this point last year. But since March I have paid off

£3834.57!!! :j :j :j

By the end of this year, I will have paid off another £1280.80 so my total this year since joining will be

£5115.37!!! :j :j :j

which is over half of my debt when I joined :T :T :T :T :T

Wow you've all done soooo well. Hopefully all these success stories will be the same for me next year.

Joined in the Debt Free Challenge in September, to date paid £500 off my debt in two months. This site is amazing and I've found so many ways to cut back since joining, so hoping to clear all my debt by March next year.

It's fabulous to look at what we've achieved so far. It gives me increased impetus to carry on.(Not that I've got any choice really!)

Hmmm...I'm not exactly sure of how much we've paid off in the last 12 months.

We did all the biggest stuff like sell the cars way back in August...

But we have paid off at least £1200 each and every month without fail, so let's call it £14,400 in the last 12 months - which - rather scarily - is just over 46% of our take home pay.

(27 months to go at this rate!)

I reckon it must be around £12k so far this year :eek: We are as skint as skint can be at present BUT the end is in sight Just need to get over christmas!!

You know what is most amazing? That had we not found this site, i wouldn't be in 10k worth of debt... by now it would be 15k, when in reality it is now 3k!

We have cleared around £20k this yr but as self employed retalers the bad summer threw out ALL my clever plans (we turned over £50k LESS than we should have) plus was happily waiting for fat cheques for penalties to add to £11k already received, when OFT thing finished it off.

However..because of OFT, I found this site and have found it MASSIVELY helpful and supportive plus have picked up loads of tips.

We have nother 91k to go!!...was meant to have gone by july 08 but i think i have to add 12 mnths onto it....this sept / oct sales are really down too (perhaps my customers are reading this site!)..........................oh well...have really got used to not spending anything too!

wow!! Just read through all this. Amazing,amazing and amazing. I have paid £2k since July which I would have said was impossible if I had thought about it 6 months ago but it has been done. Some of it was good luck as I have had 2 good money wins which came to > £1000 but pre lbm I would have spent that whereas I have used most of it to pay off debt and to limit the damge of Christmas, but the rest was sheer hard work and frugal living. I am quite enjoying most of it though.

Just wanted to say that in about 6 months, I have managed to pay off approx £6000.00. I would like to clear my debts by 2011, or sooner if I pick 6 numbers.

I became DF in feb this year, I think I paid off around £3K this year to make me DF I just didn't buy anything just food and bills until it was all gone!!
