Spotted damage on car after PCP purchase - what are my rights?

Your legal consumer rights have been explained. They are tempered by the apparent condition, as would have been easily determined by a layman pre-purchase.
But, it seems, you don't like that answer, because it requires you to admit that some of the onus here is on your shoulders, which you are clearly never going to do.
As far as whether the car meets Toyota's advertised standards or not, you may be able to persuade them to extend some goodwill, but I hope you display a very different attitude to what we're seeing here if you're going to get anywhere. Toddlers with temper tantrums don't tend to get humoured.
As far as the post-PCP inspection goes, if you can demonstrate that the damage did not occur during your ownership, then the "fair wear and tear" element should not apply to that damage.
As far as your shouting about you're obviously considerably richer than us, we're not the ones financing a second-hand Toyota.
Wow, I can almost feel your middle aged sweaty forehead creasing in delight as you typed away those passive aggressive comments.
But actually some interesting information in this, so thanks. The garage has sorted it all for me.
... Plus your wealth comment - pretty unnecessary - but as you asked, I!!!8217;m 32 and I!!!8217;ve paid off my mortgage,,, so I do okay to be fair. I also hope you do equally, or better in life, and perhaps stop judging people, particulary on silly things like what cars their wives drive. You!!!8217;ll be happier for it, I promise.
Thanks for the help all!0 -

It’s good you’re doing so well in life. Mortgage paid off and a new BMW for yourself.
Most men would rather put their lady in the new car or at least go with her to purchase a car. Not send her out on her own and be stuck with a used Yaris she’s paying finance on.
After all you claim to have enough funds to buy her a new one outright.0 -

Absolutely... I get a car allowance which enables me to crush 25k miles a year in a nice car. My wife does 4 to 5k a year and loves Toyota. PCP is a good option because it keeps the cost of driving very low, particularly in a Hybrid. Where as I purchased mine outright as it works out cheaper.
Any other strawmans/assumption you want to throw my way old chap?
Anyway this thread is massively off topic, I’d rather not spend my day fending off against an army of self-righteous forum w***** with nothing better to do.
The car got sorted, Toyota are fixing it. Problem solved.0 -

You can’t lie straight in bed.feralspecies wrote: »Hi
I’m taking a 4 year PCP out on a now BMW, the current total value is 23,480, with a residual value of 8900 based on 17k miles a year.
Because PCP is pretty expensive, I essentially want to pay off the loan of circa 15/16K myself using a much cheaper personal loan. Does this mean I now wont pay anything until I reach the 4 year end point, and then have the choice to purchase or hand back? Or, does it just shorten the length of the agreement?
Essentially I’m just looking at how I can reduce payments further over and above financing via a PCP, and this seemed like a good option.0 -
I bought an approved audi a year or so ago, noticed some damage after purchase and they rectified it no issue, the same on another car a couple years previous from the same place.
Always worth asking, especially if you will get it serviced there etc.0 -
is this another matter straight from the dark ages
although he doesnt usually get as angry or agressive as this0 -
yeah regret posting now.
OP being a douche and with his 'significant savings', fully mortgage free at 32 and yet still getting finance for a yaris. and well, you'd think he could work out these issues himself quite easily.0 -
Yep I!!!8217;m a douche. Big of you gammons to attack someone online carry it on and on like you have nothing better to do today.
Anyway, enjoy the weather and the good run at sports at the moment.
Many thanks0 -
